This is my 5th or 6th stay at this APA. I usually stay here for the location - a quick walk to Shinjuku Station; the price is good, the special APA brand pillows are so comfortable, and the guest bathhouse on the top floor is great for a soak. I would lean towards 4-5 stars normally but this time there was a front desk person who was so awful, even though the rest of the team was great, she was incredibly impersonal, and just stood there at every step of the check in process and did nothing (one guest arrived at the wrong hotel - she pointed him outside with no explanation, my luggage toppled over and when I was struggling with it, she pointed to a valet cart and told me to use it and bring it back) meanwhile, the other receptionists were really helpful to tired guests. So, unusual to rate this stay only 3 stars but some quality control of front desk staff would be great.
