This property is conveniently located with tons of dining options. Roppongi is far less crowded compared to areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya. Tattoo friendly onsen was also a major factor in choosing this hotel.

A welcoming oasis in busy Tokyo

This Candeo location was in a great spot — Roppongi has a lot of things going on so we never felt far from food or public transit. The staff were super friendly. Everyone we spoke to was able to communicate in both Japanese and English and were very helpful when we asked oddball questions (like “where do we get a suica card” or “where do we buy laundry detergent”). The spa on the top floor is divine. Extremely tranquil, was never very busy at any of the 3 times I visited, very clean, and had a fantastic view of Tokyo Tower. The hotel offered breakfast for 2,000 yen a person, and it was buffet style with a wide variety of foods. Eggs, ham, curries, breads, rice, fruit, bread pudding, and several hot items that were different each time I had it. Of my whole experience, the only two things I would nitpick are I wish the rooms got cooler than 20C (that’s about 68 degrees in F), and the room we booked had no closets at all. A small room with four suitcases did get a little cramped, but it was manageable. Overall, a very nice stay for our first time ever in Japan.

Paid extra for a room with a view of the Tokyo tower, but most of the view was blocked by another building, so it felt it was not worth it at all. Additionally, they only gave us two bath towels and two hand towels and expected us to use the bath towels for the spa and showering in the room. I don’t want to use my bath towel in a common area spa, that’s gross. It also just didn’t feel very clean. The mirror behind the bed had buildup in the cracks and the tea kettle had some sort of grime inside of it — so I did not want to use it. Most importantly, I returned to our room one day around noon to the door wide open. Housekeeping was on our floor, but they were a few rooms down making a bed and didn’t even see me walk past them. I walked into our room and no one was in there. They had our door wide open and weren’t looking out to make sure our belongings were safe. Anyone could’ve just walked into our room like I did. I felt uncomfortable leaving our stuff in our room after that, especially being that there was no safe. I will definitely not return to this hotel or any of their other hotels.

A so so hotel

I got notification that the spa would be under construction after my cancellation deadline passed. I booked a twin bed room with the Tokyo tower view, but the view of the tower was limited, partially blocked due to other buildings. The room was kind of stinky, not so sure what smell it is, but not so fresh. But the hotel is in a very convenient place, close to the train station and shopping area.

After paying extra for two separate beds. The beds were placed side by side with only separate blankets. Very disappointing! People should know the back view is of a cemetery, and the pool was naked only. No safe for valuables.
