My first impression was that this was a nice hotel. The customer service was fantastic — I arranged for my luggages to be transferred to and from the hotel and there were no issues in getting that coordinated at all. The bed was comfortable as I was able to beat my jet lag and finally sleep in. Regarding the hotel itself, there wasn’t really anywhere to relax and lounge outside of our hotel rooms without feeling like you’re inconveniencing staff or other guests. The hotel restaurant and bakery were way on the other side of the property. The room we had was small and a bit frustrating with our 2 check-in bags BUT had a little couch and table which were nice. One of my bigger gripes is despite how small the rooms already are, they charge based on the number of travelers and not by the room. I made the mistake in booking for 1 traveler instead of 2, and was a bit surprised and offended when I was charged 2000 yen for having my husband with me even when the room is said to fit 2 people. I had stayed at 3 other hotels prior to this one and was charged the same, whether it was for 1 or 2 travelers. Anyway, I appreciated the service but would not stay here again as it’s not my vibe in general and there were not enough amenities, perks or local attractions to entice me to come back.
Loved the ability to Chromecast. Proximity to Tokyo Dome and several different train and subway stations was also fantastic. Room was small but very smartly designed. Incredible water pressure and good sized shower and tub. Lots of shelf space in the bathroom. Only complaints were a dehumidifier that took up precious space that we didn't use and the firmness of the mattresses being too hard. But this is quite common in Japan. If you have the opportunity please go to B1. Their bar service is really incredible for cocktails. But strangely was closed Sunday and Monday.
The single room is going to feel small to Americans, but it was perfect with its amenities and space for me as a solo traveler. There was room underneath the bed to slide my baggage to keep it out of the way after I unpacked. The curtains worked really well to block out light for sleeping. Bed was firm, but I'm a back sleeper so that was fine by me.
I appreciated having the option to see the status of the Laundromat machines from the room's TV main menu. There's no machine for getting change to use the laundry and it runs on only some QR code payments or multiple 100yen coins, so you may have to try and get some spare change after buying something from the vending machine nearby.
I arrived hours about 6 hours before check in and they were able to store my luggage, and also the same after check out where I went out to tour for the day before I came back to get my bags and head to the airport.
There are 3 metro/train stations within a 5-10 minute walk of the hotel. I also appreciated the walking distance to the Tokyo Dome since I was going there several days for events.
I did not opt for the breakfast buffet plan, since I'd usually pick up something light to eat from the convenience stores. I did try out the weekday lunch special at the Hirakawa restaurant ar the hotel and that was also a really nice meal and service experience.
Overall, I had a very comfortable, quiet, stay and felt safe here. Definitely want to stay here again if I'm ever back in the area!
I really enjoyed my stay here. It's in a very quiet neighborhood so it was nice to come back to an area of peace and quiet after all the action and crowds in areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya. The staff were courteous and the rooms were in great condition. I would gladly stay here again.
