So first of all on a good note, the staff at this hotel were genuinely kind and helpful, and the location is convenient. There’s a Starbucks nearby and a small mall-like area connected to the property with a few restaurants and shops, which was handy.
However, I just cannot get over the air conditioning situation in the Garden Tower. It shuts off automatically in the middle of the night — and we were told this happens in every room in that tower. In the heat of summer, this made it almost impossible to sleep. My son woke up crying and soaked in sweat. It was a really unpleasant experience. And again, this is just me, but if I get woken up in the middle of the night, if it’s very hard for me to go back to sleep, which made the next day of sightseeing awful.
We moved to a room in the Main Tower, where the A/C does not shut off — but it’s still not strong, and the room was uncomfortably warm. I highly recommend asking for a fan if you stay here. The Main Tower does have an espresso machine and seems more updated overall, so if you’re going to stay at this hotel, definitely pay a little more to be in the Main Tower.
Personally, I would never stay here again, but that’s just my experience. If A/C performance matters to you, especially in summer, I’d look elsewhere. I understand conserving energy and perhaps the air conditioning should shut off between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM when people are less likely to be in their room, but this was unacceptable.
