Hotel is in a great neighbourhood. The cafe and bar are excellent and convenient. The staff are super knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. The second floor could use a refresh - the carpets are stained and the rooms and hallway could use a new coat of paint. Overall really happy with our stay.
Great location, great bagel shop and bar. The policy about paying extra for losing the room card keys sounded cheap. Room was empty (not in a minimalist way) and bathroom was clean but bad designed and very small. Overall it was a good experience. A quieter Tokyo.
This is a very bare bones but clean hotel - felt more like a hostel. Biggest gripe is with the bathroom - the shower floors the entire floor. Additionally, if you’re forwarding luggage, it needs to be downstairs before 9am so checkout is at 9am - and they only let you extend to 11am for a fee. The location is great, but not sure that I’d want to come back for what we paid per night.

A nice property but looking a bit rough round the edges eg. some staines on curtains. Walls in common areas need a lick of paint and care.
Staff were helpful and attentive and record players in the rooms were a nice touch.
The property itself is a a short ways off from the main part of the neighborhood which makes it super convenient to lots of vintage shopping and restaurants as well as the train without feeling like you’re in stepping out into traffic the moment you leave the hotel. The cafe downstairs is good but there’s word class coffee blocks in any direction as well. Only complaint is the patio does not come with any furniture / cushions which made it not very pleasant to use with no shade and nowhere to sit.
This was our first trip to Tokyo and we really enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is quiet and trendy, the staff spoke English well and were very accommodating. We were able to rent bikes to explore the city instead of taking the subway and I'd highly recommend doing that. Cool amenities like checking out vinyl records to listen to in your room we're a nice touch. Rooms were pretty small but comfortable and the bathrooms very nice. Great value and we'd definitely stay again.
Superb location, facility conditions are lagged behind compared Japanese standards and other accommodations. One of the best traits of the hotel is the coffee shop in the lobby

Great location and walkable neighbourhood around Shimokitazawa. The staff are friendly but the cleaners need to ensure they vacuum the floor.
Lovely area -- chill vibes and not too busy. The cafe (Sidewalk Coffee Roasters) within the hotel had excellent quality coffee, fresh and tasty bagels and always friendly staff. Proximity to two different subway stations was really convenient and the surrounding area (shopping, cafes, bakeries) had a really great vibe.
The rooms themselves are pretty sparse and bare bones/no frills. But if you're the type where the purpose of your hotel room is to sleep, shower and keep your luggage while you're out exploring, then this shouldn't be a problem!
Overall Mustard was a great place to stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
