I wanted to stay someplace where we could walk out of the hotel and have numerous options for shopping and dining for my teenage granddaughter. This hotel did not disappoint. Check in was easy, the staff spoke excellent english, there is a restaurant onsite and the train station is right across the way. We walked around at night going to the Pokemon store, Nintendo, and small arcades. She absolutely loved it. There were numerous dining options. The location was amazing. The rooms were on the small side but manageable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Top location - service "ok"

We arrived by train and the hotel entry was pretty difficult to find. The location is very good and we really liked the direct view onto the Shibuya crossing. Really cool. Was was less cool is that they didn't make our room 3 out of 4 nights (I actually had to point it out to one of the cleaners). The rooms could use a refresh.

We booked a room with a view on the Shibuya Crossing and I'm so glad we did! It was amazing. Even when we were tired and needed to rest, we didn't feel like we were missing out on the Tokyo vibe - it was right there with us. Staff was incredible, rooms super clean and modern -honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Both my husband and I loved every moment and we'd book it again!

This hotel is located by the popular Shibuya Crossing, can’t beat that in terms of the location! However, poor amenities, room coffee was tasteless, and the mattress was old and gave me a bad body ache. They also didn’t allow me to go to their restaurant bar as I was told that you would have to purchase food and eat there. Additionally, I was told that it’s just a food restaurant! The staff are ready to help you by the main checkpoint but I was provided with a wrong information at times.

Review: Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu – Great Location, Decent Stay If you're looking to stay in the heart of Tokyo’s energy, the Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu puts you right on top of the iconic Shibuya Crossing. Located inside a shopping mall and just a 5-minute walk from the Shibuya Subway Station, the hotel is incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The rooms are decent—comfortable enough for a short stay—but nothing particularly luxurious for the price. Staff service is fine, though not overly impressive. Dining options inside the hotel are limited, and surprisingly, there aren’t many restaurants immediately nearby despite being in such a busy area. What truly stands out is the location and vibe. You’re in the middle of it all—surrounded by the buzzing atmosphere of Shibuya, with constant foot traffic and lights giving you the true Tokyo experience. It’s on the pricey side (around US$550 per night), so you're definitely paying for the location more than the amenities. Still, if you want to be where the action is, this hotel delivers on that front.
