I probably won’t stay here again for these reasons: (1) Capsule - The capsule itself was extremely hot and I sweated a lot, struggling to fall asleep. No fan. Also, I am 6’ 1” (185cm) and struggled to fit my whole body in the capsule without slanting/angling my body. The capsule shade is very thin and it actually opened up (due to my foot brushing against) multiple times during the night. (2) Location - It’s not particularly close to any convenience stores and on the walk back late at night I was surprised at the amount of sketchy people were outside/near the hotel trying to get my attention. Weird for Japan. (3) Check-out - There is a bizarre cleaning/check-in/out rule that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Even if you stay multiple nights, you have to be out of the facility by 10am. If you’re not, they charge a fee. And you have to re-check in for your same capsule the next night. (4) Time - because of the check-out rule, it is a pain trying to get down the elevator to the lobby. It took at least 30 minutes to get to the lobby and another 20 to get out of the building. The baths are nice and so is the staff. But everything else makes it not worth the stay.

As soon as you walk out of the elevator, the place seems like it was stuck from the past. No hate on the staff or anything, the staff actually made it enjoyable. Its just the placement of the building, its not properly maintained and it's stuck from the past.

Having to be out from 10-2 every single day is crazy. The WiFi was less that one mb. And it was very very hot inside each pod.

Staff and cleanliness were great, just keep in mind that there is nowhere to bathe privately. People whose culture/religion do not permit them to be naked infront of strangers should not stay here.

Did this for the experience. It sure was. Dirty, old, broken-down capsule with the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. Also reeked of smoke for a non-smoking capsule.

This is a great place to stay for an affordable and convenient option. There are so many people coming through this capsule that it is impressive they can do all they do.

This was my first hotel for my first ever solo trip in Japan. The pros were definitely how close it is to Golden Gai as it’s a 1 minute walk away, BUT since it’s in/super close to Kanukicho, there were times that touts would literally be right outside of the entrance. The staff was super helpful and kind, but the major negatives I want to share about my stay are: 1. No fan/AC in the capsule beds, super hot and sweaty as a result 2. You need to take off your shoes upon entering, put them into a locker, give the front desk your key to the shoe locker and they give you a wristband with a key to your locker for your bags. Now, imagine you want to swap out your shoes because you’re going hiking or forgot your wallet in your locker - it felt extremely tedious and tiring as a result. 3. Breakfast is across the street at a different facility? Annoying because you had to go through the whole #2 process I said, but the staff were nice and the food was average. Overall, the onsen area was very nice and the staff were great, but the actual bed area and logistics of the hotel are average at best. Definitely a “budget” option, but wouldn’t want to stay here more than 2-3 days max to enjoy Golden Gai.
