Very friendly and helpful staff, great location on the edge of Shinjuku night life, so quiet but still an easy walk to everything. A bit of a walk from the Shinkansen platform, but after that everywhere else on public transport was close by. A stone's throw from Golden Gai, an entry to the subway right across the road and 5 minutes to Shinjuku Gyoen Park, which is fabulous. Don't miss Hanazona Shrine on the walk to/from Golden Gai. Breakfast was excellent with both Japanese and "English" options. Freshly toasted croissants were a thoughtful touch. A note for "western" travellers: beds and pillows in Japan and Asia generally are much firmer than you're probably used to, so be ready for that. It was also very helpful to be able to check the status of the coin operated washing machines via the TV info channel, instead of having to go and physically check. Theres a Lawson about 20m from the hotel and an excellent bar/restaurant called Jay Co in the basement next door. Would stay here again.
