Missed the mark a bit

We were rushed at breakfast every morning.the attendant closed the curtains at least 10 minutes before breakfast was to end. She didn’t even want to provide cream cheese for our bagels. Other guests complained as well. We were also rushed to check out. The checkout time was 11:00 and our door was knocked on more than once before 11:00 to see if we had left. The pool was also cold and murky. The ambient temperature was warm, but the water was not. Bummed us out. This was my first vacation in 8 years and the only vacation my son has ever had.

I rarely stay at “suite” hotels when I’m on a road trip. I just need a bed, a bathroom, and maybe a tv. But the price and location was perfect for this stop so I booked it. The property was clean, well-staffed, and, because there was a neat little “kitchen” in the room and a few decent microwaveable options in the lobby store, I was able to have a late meal (including ice cream for dessert!) in my room. On real plates. With real flatware. I checked out the pool area but didn’t end up swimming (it was overrun with children, as expected - no shade to the kids!). It looked well-kept and clean, if the room was a little dark and sort of gloomy. Maybe the lights weren’t on?? Anyway, it was great and, if the price remains in the same ballpark, this location may become a regular stop for me.

The property was just ok. For the price and how the Hilton described the property, I expected better. The breakfast was subpar and not filling. We couldn't eat the eggs as they were watery and no other protein options. The walls in our rooms needed a good scrubbing. Then my entire family was locked out of our room for over an hour. My poor kids were in their bathing suits cold and shivering because the battery on lock died and therefore our keys couldnt work. We had to wait for someone offsite to come let us in. The best we got was an "Im sorry". No credit, no discount, no hilton points, nothing for their provlem. I'm tired of companies not caring about customer service.
