I checked into my room, and quickly found that it hadn’t been properly cleaned. Specifically, the garbage hadn’t been emptied under the kitchen sink (the garbage itself included tissues & condom wrappers). The nightstand also was dirty, possibly related to the garbage contents. I called the front desk to have it addressed. Housekeeping came & took out the garbage and wiped down the nightstand. I was tired after my trip so decided to just move on. As the evening goes on, I find it getting very cold in the room. There’s no thermostat in the room so I assume it’s being controlled by the front desk. Finally after wrapping myself in blankets I call the front desk to ask for my room temperature to be turned up. They tell me that the thermostat is in the room… I say, no it’s not. They send maintenance. Maintenance looks under the couch for it, and asks me if I checked for it when I came in the room? I said multiple times that I thought it was controlled by them. So no, I didn’t check for it? They switched me to a different room because they had no way to control the temperature. The reason I’m giving 3 stars overall is because I got upgraded to a way nicer & bigger room. My new room did have a broken fridge/freezer. Once I got to my new room it was obvious how many things had been missing from my previous room. It was like people had snuck into my previous room, had a wild adventure, stole a bunch of things, and left before I checked in. It was a “laugh so you don’t cry” hotel stay.
