There was a long line when we arrived, but three staff members jumped in to help people check-in. They handed out cookies, and ran out! So we were offered some when the next batch was finished. We visited the weekend before Christmas, and they were letting children pick toys from a box. My 5 year old was so happy! The place was decorated beautifully, too. Our room was comfy, the floor was quiet. We had one small issue that our key card did not work when we got to the room, but they rushed up to our floor and fixed it quickly. I think I will stay with Doubletree exclusively from now on. What a delightful experience!

The check-in experience wasn't the best. We arrived later in the evening and had reserved two rooms. For one of the rooms, the staff couldn't get the key card right. I had to go down three times and finally it was resolved. The security personnel onsite had to tell me what to tell the front desk staff in order to get the right key card. The parking is also very expensive. It's 45$ a night and the hotel is not even in a prime location to warrant that price. Right across the hotel is public parking lot that charges 30$ for the same time period so I used that option. Other than that, the hotel itself is well kept and staff is helpful and friendly.

The hotel is a bit outdated, but the staff were great and the place was always clean and tidy. Great location. It's walking distance from Union, Nathan Phillips square and the Eaton centre. I would recommend staying here and would stay here again.
