Great location and shower. Highly recommended.

The price was very fair. It wasn't cheap, but the value was there. The location was excellent. It was only a minute's walk to the city hall and Toronto sign and two minutes from the subway stop at Dundas & University. It had a fantastic late-night chicken place nearby, Nene's Chicken, which I went to most nights. The room's shower was fantastic. The water pressure was great and it was very easy to set it to the perfect temperature. The room was generally very clean, but the bedspread produced a lot of dust. Generally, I get grossed out by hotel TV remotes, but DoubleTree put a clear plastic sleeve on their remote, so you never had to make direct contact with the remote, which was great. The view was pretty good too. All in all, I'd definitely recommend this hotel. A word of warning: use a credit card for the deposit because getting your deposit back can be a pain in the butt if you use a debit card. And they require a much higher deposit if you use a debit card, more than the price of the room.

Reception staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Concierge was a big help is getting us in and discounts at local attractions such as the Hockey Hall of Fame. I stayed there recently, in town to help my son move out of one university residence and into another. The location is fantastic. I really appreciated the amenities such as the coffee/snack area and the laundry facilities. The front desk staff was very helpful and the housekeeping staff were very friendly and anticipated our every need. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.
