This is a brand new hotel. Room was excellent, breakfast (included in price) was top notch. Staff were extremely friendly. Lots of parking available (not on site) within a few minutes walk. Very convenient location in downtown Toronto. Easy walk to Rogers Centre.

This is the weirdest hotel ever, everything has to go wrong. I only stayed for 3 nights but 2 mornings their fire alarm went off and they were "resetting the alarm" at 7 am and 9am! Literally couldn't get good sleep. Breakfast staff was trying way too hard, only a handful of people eating breakfast but there was like 20 staff, they all stare at you as you're eating so that they can take your plates away, it was so stressful. I used the lobby washroom twice without issues, third time i used it there was no water in the sink, i had soap all over my hands so the staff opened the men's washroom for me to finish washing my hands, and some guy came out of the stall to give me the most judgmental look as if I'm up to no good. There were no bath robes or slippers in the rooms, and there is a huge TV in the middle of the room right in front of the bed, so awkward to sleep in front of a TV. Rooms are small and uncomfortable. Never coming back.

The staff is amazing! Right from the front doors, we felt welcome and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was incredible. Wonderful selection, fully stocked and clean. Well organized and polite and efficient staff. Would most definitely suggest the hotel, and stay again!

The RIU is brand new, and it’s obvious they’re still trying to find their groove, but it’s a very nice hotel with helpful staff. The room was clean and very comfortable, however the tv in the middle of the room is an odd aesthetic / design decision. Not a problem, just a little unusual. Ideally, there’d also be 2 pillows per guest, as opposed to only one each. Again - no big deal. I’m sure they would’ve brought more had I called. I think the RIU will be a great downtown option. Hopefully the room prices stay reasonable, as opposed to the $500-$800/ night rooms for the other hotels in the vicinity.
