I have stayed here several times now, and it has easily become my go-to place to stay whenever I'm in the city by myself. I absolutely love this place - the staff and wonderful, the place is kept very clean and tidy, and you simply cannot beat the location and price. The beds are comfortable, and while a curtain might not seem like much privacy, it's much better than the nothing most other hostels offer - that curtain makes all the difference! You have your own locked cupboard to keep your personal items in, and they even offer ear plugs to help when there are guests who snore - which is amazing. My only complaint is that the lower bunks can get fairly warm when the curtain is closed due to being insulated from the top bunk above you (top bunk has an open ceiling) so if you run hot at night definitely request a top bunk if you don't want to have your curtain open a bit for circulation. Overall, if you're a solo traveler, you'll be in amazing hands here!

I'm quite an adventurous type. So these types of accommodation suit me. The receptionist showed me what I could find. I really liked the study room where I could prepare for a future interview. There was also food on the table, as I had to get up very early.

Overall I had a great stay! It’s in such a convenient spot, which made my life much easier. The bed was more comfortable than other hotel beds I’ve had, and even though I never used either I appreciated the TV and lockable cabinet in each pod. I didn’t love that there was only curtains and no lockable doors for each pod, but I never felt unsafe so it was passable. I have a few small qualms with the hotel, but I don’t think it would stop me from coming back to this location. I’ve seen a few other reviewers point it out, but I did find it kind of strange that there were only two showers and 3 bathroom stalls in total for each gender; I was there during the week so I never had issues, but I can imagine there’d be a bit of a wait if you came at a busier day/hour. There was also quite a bit of wear and tear in the sleeping room and in the actual pods; broken hand rails, and a lot of holes in the wall. Not the end of the world, but could be fixed. Cleanliness overall was pretty decent; nothing overly offensive, but the one thing I noticed immediately was that there was hair absolutely everywhere- on the sheets, on the pillows, on the blanket, in the sink, on the towels, etc. This isn’t a massive deal, but it felt a little yucky. The blankets are just IKEA duvets with no cover, so they were a little yellow and used; they obviously can’t wash them after each guest so that left a bad taste in my mouth.

The pod hotel is good for what you get. It is great for one night in downtown Toronto. The only thing I can say that was unusual, was the pods themselves are made of metal so when you or anyone else moved it made a somewhat load noise. I would still use them again.

It’s a nice little hostel that adapts the pod-style designs that gives more of a private feel than the traditional bunk bed of a hostel. These are very popular in hostels I stayed in throughout Asia which is why they’re so popular with business professionals and leisure travellers.
