We had a fantastic day. The apartment is located just a short walk from Waiake Beach - in fact, you can go out the back gate, stroll past the sailing club and you’re right there. The apartment itself is presented with modern decor and has everything you need for your stay, right down to the complementary tea, coffee, Milo and cookies. Lovely outlook over the reserve, huge bed in the master bedroom, spa bath in the bathroom, great communication from our hosts… really hard to fault anything about our experience. Thanks so much, and we hope to stay with you again some time in the future.

Unfortunately we were told we had been upgraded to two bedroom chalets instead of the modern three bedroom villa we had originally booked for our group. This wasn’t an upgrade as the chalets are much older and the facilities weren’t as nice, although we did have more room. This change had not been communicated to us beforehand and as a group going away together, having the shared space we had booked was more of what we were after rather than two seperate buildings. One of the chalets had a broken window making it very cold it one of the bedrooms, the other had ants. We had to wash some of the dishes in the cupboards to a better standard. It was marketed as a full kitchen but we found we had to piece together bits from both chalets as they differed a lot with utensils, bake ware etc. One of the chalets didn’t have any extra blankets despite it being the middle of winter and it took 3 hours for extra blankets to be delivered and we had to chase it up 3 times. Staff weren’t overly helpful or apologetic about it. Overall, the view was amazing and it wasn’t a terrible stay, we still enjoyed aspects but it’s not the upscale luxury resort advertised and we found the service to be lacking.

Price point is right for this property. Car parks a little tight but this is useful for the location and closeness to CBD. Queen Street is within 40 minute walk but an Uber is only $10 each way and Sky City $14, very cheap. Room was spacious and tidy with the shower clean and meeting expectations given the price. Bed comfortable and heating worked well and was quick to heat the room. The hotel reception is not staffed after 8pm but entry via card is used instead. Area is quiet too with a short walk to Westfield shopping centre and various eateries coffee shops and McDonalds etc. easy access to the motorway to get out of Auckland or to the airport. Overall a pleasant stay.
