Boutiquy but Uncomfy
My fault! I had previously stayed in "Boutique" hotels before, so I should never have booked this one. Boutique seems to mean, pretty but don't expect comfort. The staff were delightful and service excellent. Shower was great too. I think that this hotel is perfect if you are young and fit, and only staying for 1 or 2 nights.
I decided to pay more and was granted an executive room. The small, dark room which had a single window
overlooking a massive brick wall, did not impress.
If you are older and like more comfort, you won't find it here. Also, the management have no idea what accessibility means. Just having a tiny lift is not enough. I needed an accessible bathroom, and a decent chair to sit on. Height adjustable would have been good.
I booked the hotel stating that I needed accessibility but this information did not seem to reach the hotel management. They told me they found out when they were copied into a survey I was asked to complete soon after arrival. One question asked " Did you get an upgrade on your room". I said that I didn't and the next question asked "Why not". I was dumbfounded and could only surmise that I wasn't getting what I should have done.
I initially thought that the hotel was not responsible for not being informed of my needs, but there was a decision not to step up. Twice, from 2 members of staff I was told that they had seen my initial survey. If they did not want to upgrade me why not move me into an accessible room? They did have one!
