Great place to stay except for the fact the rooms are not "sound proof' at all. VERY noisy all night with the constant sound of extractor noises. So a great place to stay if such things don't bother you but terrible for light sleepers.

Bathroom needed a refurb as cracked tiles and no handle to assist getting in and out. No face towels available nor shower cap. Food was overall very good apart from the scrambled eggs at breakfast which were awful. Pool area also needed a refurb as again lots of broken tiles.

Magnificent old property maintained in excellent condition with peacocks roaming the grounds. Our room was lovely - high quality finishes and furnishings, very comfortable.

Excellent location and hotel. Loved the peacocks roaming around and you could feed them as well, by getting their feed from reception. It was an extremely busy weekend when we went with weddings but we were still looked after. Will return in the future

All of the staff went above and beyond. The customer service was exceptional. The room was lovely and big and the beds very comfy. Was a little disappointed with the spa which is a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. Don’t book a treatment but the treatment rooms looked nice and relaxing

Lovely olde worlde hotel

Superb staff, little hiccup first night but swiftly resolved. Bit shout out to the bar tenders in the Shakespeare Bar.

Super place which could be a bit more flexible

Lovely setting, charming staff. My only quibble was that it was a bit inflexible about serving food - for instance nothing was available between 9.30 and lunchtime.
