The view from the hotel is amazing..we had booked a room with the view and it was worth it..quite close to the bus stops and walking distance to most of the places..all the sight seeing meeting points are less than a 5 minute walk. There is a direct bus from the airport to the Scandic hotel close by..so on a summer day it's perfect..we went in November .. there was ice all over, and on top of that it snowed and rained for two days so it was slushy and wet and slippery..and we went with a big suitcase so lugging it from the bus stop even if it's only a few hundred meters was horrible..and there is no service to take the luggage to the stop from the hotel either..taxi might have been a better option if we hadn't already bought the return ticket for the fly bussen to the airport The hotel provided free breakfast and dinner and evening tea and cake..which was really good..it said a light evening meal in the website so we thought it was going to be a soup or something but they had a soup? 3 different salads, rice and some protein..which was unexpected... so we were pleasantly surprised...they even had cake for evening tea free of cost.. The rooms had the necessities..quite small no frills, but the view made up for everything... on the whole the loved my stay in tromso..

Location, location, location. It could not be any better. Absolutely pay for a harbour view - that is what makes this hotel... Good breakfast - lots of choice. Loved the cake and coffee in the afternoon. We never had the evening meal so can't comment on that. Downsides - absolutely no storage in the rooms. We had a superior seaview - the cases were just on the floor and we had to step round them - you simply can't unpack anything. There is one rail with c 4 coat hangers and that is it.

Our flight didn't arrive until after normal check in clises but we just sent an email and staff made a note we would be late arriving. Staff were great, very friendly and always happy to help. The room was comfortable, we slept well and there were chairs to rest up. We had a great view out over the harbour and surrounding hills. The room was a little dusty and hotel staff do not come in to clean or replace anything during the stay so we had to go to reception to ask for toilet paper. There is an alcove with 4 clothes hangers but no other clothes storage at all. The communal dining room/ lounge room were lovely. The inclusive eveningeal and snacks in the afternoon we a pleasant surprise we hadn't expected. All meals are buffet style so the food gets a little cool and the coffee wasn't the best. The hotel is in a great position for the town centre and expeditions from the harbour. Would definitely stay here again but perhaps for a shorter break (we stayed 7 nights) but all in all it was great.

Property was in excellent location overlooking the harbour. Only use this hotel for a maximum of 2 nights as due to the hotel policy the rooms are only cleaned for one night stays. We stayed 4 nights and our room was not cleaned during this time. Breakfast and dinner were of good quality.

Great central location & rooms with view of the water. Great staff - all were helpful & efficient. The food was ok with the welcome afternoon tea & cake, particularly as many aurora tours started at 6pm, before the start of dinner service. Overall we would definitely recommend it. It is showing a little wear and tear in places, but not to the detriment of the overall feeling of the hotel. One little annoyance was the very limited space for putting away clothes; there was only hangers, a small (high) shelf above the hangers and one small drawer in the desk.

Nice, spacious room at convenient location. Breakfast, light tea and dinner provided. Only drawback is that we had to carry our luggage up 1 floor because the lift only goes up until the 5th floor and our room was on the 6th floor.

The hotel is blatantly lying about their amenities! During an unusual heat wave in Tromso we spent time searching on Expedia (on our own and to ensure accuracy with an Expedia representative) for a hotel that that has air conditioning. The hotel lists as amenities provided air conditioning, which was also confirmed by the Expedia representative with the hotel before we made the reservation. At check in, we learned that there is no actual air conditioning in the rooms, only a centralized confort system, which doesn’t really do anything. It was late in the day, so we took the room, only to have a really unpleasant 4 nights. Top that with the fact that the hotel is quite old and poorly maintained, kitchen closed (had to walk across street to another hotel for breakfast) and this stay in their pricey “exceptional” room was totally not worth and a scam.
