Good for overnight stay

The location of the property is amazing; right on the lake. Very serene, very peaceful outlook. Our room was very basic. Having a queen and 2 singles in the room was a tight squeeze. Not much space for our suitcases. The walls had white patches and needed painting. The couch was old and didn't look particularly clean, needs replacing. No wifi in the rooms. Dining area is very large and dining menu is good. Some staff members were friendly and smiling, but there were others who it seemed just didnt enjoy being there. Pool table and outdoor chess was a bonus that we enjoyed. We might stay there again but only overnight.

The room was small, and had no luggage racks not very convenient. Our lake view room walking pass others, look to be smaller, not sure if that was because we booked via Expedia. The staff were polite but lack service skills.

For foreigners who are dependent on wifi connection this was a downer You have to stay at the Restaurant area to be connected. TV in the room was not working as it couldn't connect to wifi

If you like experiencing a stay in a mining camp, this is it. Once it was used by workers at a nearby hydro project but today the name Tullah Lakeside Lodge sounds more interesting than it really is. It is nothing to get excited about, located on the edge of the lake but the best offering is a large dining area with bar and games room. The rooms were very basic and tired, a throwback to last century unfortunately. Our family traveled during school holidays and only stayed because everything else around Cradle Mountain was booked out, even after getting in about 6 months in advance.

WiFi only near the common spaces

We had a comfortable stay and enjoyed our food; it was just what we needed after a day at Cradle Mountain. It was just a shame that WiFi didn't stretch to our room.

There was nothing not to like, such a beautiful place, staff amazing, food amazing. When we return to Tasmania we will be staying there the entire time rather than 7 nights in different places. There was no one at reception to greet us for check in so we went to the bar and we were ignored. When we asked to be checked in, it seemed an inconvenience to the staff member. The room was very small & cramped. The bed was uncomfortable and the throw on the bed was dirty. It felt cheap. The restaurant & bar were more inviting with lovely log fires and a view over the lake. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food was delicious.

Location location when it comes to taking a pause whilst doing the Western Explorer. Rooms are very tidy and bedding comfortable. Staff a little reserved but this may be to do with the teams of mining crews that also use it as a base. You might be exposed to some colourful behaviour.
