My recent stay at Secrets Tulum Beach Territory was unfortunately filled with disappointment and deception. I want to share this in full transparency so others don’t fall into the same trap. 1. False Advertisement with Room Booking We specifically booked a room with two queen beds and an oceanfront view. What we received was a king bed in what felt like a basement-level room—with no ocean view in sight. When we addressed this with the staff, we were told there were no other rooms available—not even at the main resort. We were denied an upgrade and essentially told we were out of luck. It wasn’t until we escalated the issue through Expedia that we were suddenly moved to an oceanfront room (still with only one bed). This confirmed that solutions were available—but only when external pressure was applied. It felt dishonest and manipulative. 2. Airport Transportation Scheme We confirmed with the front desk the night before that we’d have a 10:15 AM shuttle to take us to the main resort, where our transfer to the airport was scheduled for 10:30 AM. That shuttle never arrived. During our entire four-day stay, the shuttle had been consistently early by five minutes, so it’s highly unlikely it “just didn’t show up.” This forced us to pay $140 for a last-minute taxi. It felt coordinated and predatory—especially since the front desk seemed overly cozy with the private taxi companies. 3. The food provided was not good, made my girlfriend and I very ill for 3 days before we left early. No extra accommodations were made to help this either, we were told a refund would not be issued as per policy. Property was already shabby when we arrived, a large piece of plaster had fallen off the ceiling next to our room. We encountered one power outage for 30 minutes. One positive I will give them is that the staff are very friendly once you are there, and the concierges did seem genuinely concerned we were having such a bad time.

Upon check in, we had a minor issue with our room not being ready on time. I did ask to speak to the manager on duty. The hotel manager Kevin was very accommodating and even offered us a special dinner to make up for the late check in. Gabriel, Our room concierge was also great. He was very attentive, helpful and went above and beyond to attend to all of our needs. He planned a romantic dinner for us to celebrate our anniversary. Lucia the manager at olio - was great. She made sure our experience was perfect. You can tell these guys enjoy what they do and take it seriously. I also want to give thanks to Estela at the front desk, Jeremias at preferred lobby bar. I highly recommend this resort. It’s relaxing, luxurious and the customer service is top notch.

Upon check-in, we experienced a minor issue with our room not being ready on time. I requested to speak with the manager on duty, and Kevin, the hotel manager, was incredibly accommodating. He went above and beyond to make it right by offering us a special dinner, which was a thoughtful gesture that truly made a difference. Gabriel, our room concierge, was exceptional. He was attentive, helpful, and consistently went out of his way to ensure all our needs were met. He even planned a romantic dinner for us to celebrate our anniversary, which was a beautiful and memorable experience. Lucia, the manager at Olio, was also fantastic. She ensured every detail of our dining experience was perfect. You can really tell that the staff here enjoy what they do and take pride in delivering outstanding service. I also want to extend my thanks to Estela at the front desk and Jeremias at the Preferred Lobby Bar—both were friendly, professional, and added to the overall quality of our stay. I highly recommend this resort. It’s relaxing, luxurious, and the customer service is truly top notch. Looking forward to our next trip back.

We loved our stay at this resort. It was our first stay at an all inclusive resort. We loved how friendly, kind, and helpful the staff were. All of the food was excellent especially the Jasmine Restaurant - Jesus and Edgar Were great servers. IF you have preferred club, we we got it as a perk of booking through expedia then you can also do breakfast at the jasmine restaurant, but the Market cafe was great too - we ate at both. The grotto is also wonderful. Adela and Jhonny made the trip so much fun with different activities they offered such a volleyball, water aerobics and bracelet making. (Definitely try it, super fun) The beach had a lot of seaweed on it and in the ocean, but we knew that going into it. This resort provides regular buses to take you to and from the hotel to their beach club which wasn't a problem, but something to note. We stayed in room 2130, and we felt it was really nice, clean , and quiet. It was on an outer circle of the resort, not near the movie area, sports bar, or evening entertainment. If you are sensitive to sound, maybe bring a sound machine since just to be safe. We had a swimout room which was a really nice feature to have. Gabriel, was great at making sure that if we needed anything else, it would be brought to our room. Aldo was also great with making sure everything ran smoothly. We would book here again in a heart beat - perfect for a recharge. Also, don't be afraid to walk the strip around the beach club, lots of fun shops and art to see
