The hotel has a lot to offer in summer. My issue is the town itself. There is literally nothing to do besides the Wild Center. The store next door was really a great place. A bit expensive but quality food and friendly people.

It was ok. On the good side, they did a 1-night reservation, which is hard to get during leaf season in the Adirondacks. The room was comfortable, door lock system was easy to use. The shower was not great--low water pressure, old tub. The recycle bin in the room was full when we arrived. Only a trash can in the bathroom, not one in the main room. There was a fridge, but I couldn't put my freezer cubes in the freezer because it was so iced up the door wouldn't open. I think they should have more info about the property in the room, and a pen and small pad of paper and/or envelope so guests could leave a note & tip for housekeeping would be good. Breakfast items were also ok, not great. Bottom line--I would have been quite happy with this room for $150 or so/night. For $300 per night? I'd expect more.

The virtual check in was unique. Door code required several tries. Rooms were very comfortable, very clean. The room had lots of supplies (towels, coffee pods& cocoa pods). Charming lobby. Warm fire. This hotel definitely is older…although you can tell they tried to improve its looks and feel. There is a strong sewage smell in the 2nd floor access stairwell…turns your off…. Definitely a 2 star at best.

The hotel was well kept, clean and safe. Check in was a bit challenging as it is done remotely and the code was not sent. I wandered the property and met another person who had not received a code.. We eventually found a number to call and were able to receive our room codes. The hotel was described as including breakfast — the breakfast displayed in the breakfast room was four apples (for the entire hotel). The refrigerator was empty and the keurig coffee choices were all decaf (needless to say — the site should not advertise that breakfast is included)

The property was very nice and clean. Our room was very comfortable and smelled great. We had a problem with the shower head being broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom. I called the office and it was fixed very promptly with no questions asked. Over all thoughts are the accomodations were outstanding. Will recommend it to my friends and family for future stays at Trailhead.
