I would like a refund for the 1st night stay , as my 21 year old son was stuck in the restroom for about 45 mins , the glass door was stuck , only opened about 13 inch . It was like that the whole night untill the eject morning , the front desk person responded to our room as he was unable to open , we both tried to pry the big heavy glass door , he called the on call maintenance guy but was not able to come in , it was all documented , they gave us some complementary snacks that was it . Hopefully we can resolve this thnaks
Very nice and clean. Only reason I took away a star is because the road noise was really loud. I assume if you’re not on the side of the hotel near the highway, it’s probably better.
It's a great hotel for visiting University of Alabama! A very short 5 min drive to the university and dining closer to campus, and very walkable shopping and dining options near the hotel. The hotel is pretty and the staff was extremely nice and friendly. The rooms like pretty but appear to have been constructed a little cheaply. However it's a great location and hotel

Very very clean, looks brand new. Love that there is no carpet in room. Comfortable beds.
Cons- I didn’t like that there is not a regular door to the bathroom. It is a heaving sliding glass door, which is not easy to close. Also, driving up to the hotel it is not clear where the entrance is. There is not a covered area to drive and unload your luggage. Not until I called did the guy come out and told us where to park and that there was a covered parking BEHIND the building, we had no idea. Other than that, service was great.
Property has Marriott name but does not have “look and feel” of a Marriott. Decor was cold and spartan, overall look of the room was industrial. Mattresses were thin and one of the queen mattresses had a curve or a dip in the center of the bed. Place was very clean but was our room was not serviced one day (we stayed two nights)…the beds were not made, new towels were not provided, trash was not removed. The bar in the lobby was a nice place to relax before going out but the unhappy bartender put a damper on our spirits. Each floor had a water station to refill water bottles (with ice too) which was a nice touch. Front desk staff were pleasant and professional. Breakfast was not included, parking was behind the hotel and readily available. Next time I would stay elsewhere, cross over Lurleen Wallace Boulevard, and on University Boulevard, west of Avenue Pub. I expected more of this property with the Marriott name and also because it is relatively new.
The stay was exceptionally well the front desk member Kevin was extremely helpful and very pleasant! He made sure I had the correct military rate! Also the janitor was very kind as well!
