I’ve stayed at Staybridge Suites University Area by IHG several times in the past, and while the experience was usually just okay, this recent stay was truly disappointing. It was so bad that I checked out a full day early. Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t officially check me out until today, even though I left yesterday. We were originally placed in a room with a filthy, stained mattress on the sofa bed—it was absolutely unacceptable. We requested to be moved, and while the staff did accommodate the request, the new room had an overpowering smell of fried food that made it impossible to relax. The odor was so strong and unpleasant that we decided to cut our trip short. I will not be returning to this location again.
