What a lovely resort - there was a mix up with our booking and our first room was very small even though advertised for 4 adults -it was not suitable for 4 adults sharing - and also very noisy - but the manager sorted it out - breakfast ought to be included in the pricing I feel - all the staff so friendly and helpful and grounds beautiful - Butler service widely advertised is simply concierge service and perhaps remove impressive from room descriptions as they are simply standard hotel rooms unless you have a villa. On all bookings we had to chase up for dressing gowns but other than that I would recommend the hotel for a relaxing and chilled out stay.

Just perfection

Perfect 5 star hotel experience awaits you here at Maya. The food is amazing and grounds are meticulously maintained. Service was unparalleled. Everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. We especially felt really looked after by Ekan and Yuni at the Tree Bar. Thanks guys for making our stay wonderful. Spa was beautiful and treatments were wonderful. The kids did a cooking class and loved the experience.

We had some last minute changes/unforseen circumstances and needed to shorten our stay. The manager was extremely inflexible and unhelpful and insisted on charging us for 2 nights and 2 rooms- no offer of vouchers or any compromise. Given this was my second stay at the resort- very disappointed with my experience with the reservations team. At check out- we were charged twice for expenses and it wasn’t until we checked our receipt that we realised- how they managed to take 2 payments from 2 separate people for the same bill is concerning. Restaurant and other hotel staff were absolutely lovely, just really disappointed by the management and reservations team that really let us down.

The hotel is set in lovely surroundings but I feel it’s a little dated, the bathroom could do with an upgrade and possibly a separate shower area rather than in the bath tub. The walls are thin so you can hear the other hotel guests having conversations.

Great resort, friendly staff. Amazing spa, and good quality food in the restaurants. The only complaints are, gym was a bit small, and pools were not heated.

The only negative aspect that I care to mention is that the room I had on the 2nd floor was not as quiet as expected. I could hear my neighbor next door in the bathroom and my upstairs neighbor walking around. They weren't doing anything crazy so the room could use better spund isolation.
