Villa number 4 is no longer "private" due to the construction going on below. Now, in any other circumstance, this would be the MOST AMAZING place to stay. It's spacious, the bath is huge, the garden is beautiful, the staff are incredibly attentive. They give you a phone for your stay that you can use to call for a pick up from anywhere in Ubud. I was going to move to a different Villa with a private outlook after the first 2 nights when one became available, but increasingly I became less happy with the accommodation. The villa is next to a school and a sports field. On the weekend, they play soccer all day and the cheering, loudspeaker announcement and disco music are so incredibly loud. Then, there is also drumming practice. LOUD. This combined with the construction (yelling, banging, roosters calling, old men hacking up phlegm, fires burning) made for NOT the peaceful stay I was looking for. The bugs and geckos, whatever. The large huntsman, meh, I'm Aussie, I can deal with that. However, on the second night I had a rodent or some kind of small mammal in the room. The breakfast left a little to be desired (I know Asian countries don't tend to do Western breakfast well) but I was paying approx $150AUD per night here. This is Bali, I could have paid that for the whole week if I wanted! The airport transfer at other hotels may be as little as 250,000. This room needs to be cheaper, and guests need to know beforehand the view is spoiled and NOT private.
