Wonderful.

We thoughly enjoyed our stay I would definitely recommend. And we'll be back next year. Its in such a lovely location. The breakfast and evening dinner was just lovely. Thanks to all the staff for your incredible service.

Disappointed

First impressions was a disheveled man at the desk complaining we were too early to check in. A lovely young lady came and checked us in no problem. The executive room overlooking the river was lovely although it needs a little updating. On closer inspection the room and bathroom needed a bit more cleaning. The lift wasn’t working which wasn’t really a problem for us. We went to the spa to be told the steam room and jacuzzi weren’t working, thought ok went in the pool it was absolutely freezing. Lay on the sun beds to warm up and the windows you couldn’t see out of them they were that dirty. A lovely view from there if you could see out we paid a lot of money for this experience so very disappointed The rest of the staff were lovely and the the food was lovely

Great 1 night getaway

We had a lovely stay at the Whitewater hotel. All the staff were very friendly. We stayed for 1 night with our 3 month old baby and was given a really spacious room on the ground floor with a travel cot. We did stay for dinner at the hotel. The starter was a bit disappointing and when the waiter asked why we hadn't finished it he took it off the bill. The lamb and the steak was lovely. Breakfast was also nice. The hotel is very outdated but if you can see past that it's in a lovely location and has good facilities with the pool.

We booked a double room which ended up being on the lower ground floor, was dark and a bit musty. Not enough plug sockets and very dated (had a trouser press). The staff were either non-existent or doing multiple jobs so they weren't able to concentrate on any of them, consequently the service was pretty poor. Attention to detail was missing everywhere, dirty cutlery and cups on a few occasions. The restaurant was ok, staff were nice but seemed like they were always extremely busy even when it was quiet. Reception and main bar staff were mostly not present, you had to ring a bell which either made someone appear or didn't. The area around the hotel is lovely but I wouldn't recommend staying here

Great building in a lovely location. Some areas of the hotel are a bit tired, but cleanliness was very good. Staff were welcoming and accommodating and our evening meal and breakfast was great. The free facilities of the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi at the leisure complex were an added bonus, although the beautiful view was hindered by the windows which needed cleaning. An easy fix! Overall, a lovely stay and great value for money.

Fair, needs updating and pricey

Disappointing to find that the spa was shut for our stay, and the main reason for selecting this hotel. Drink a bit pricey averaging £7.10 for beers and £9.70 for small wine. Rooms were vary large but dated with stained bedding pillows and sheets, although this is not to say they hadn't been cleaned. Plenty of cobwebs but that didn't really concern me.
