I am making a formal complaint about my stay at Hotel Do Pozzi in Venice. When we arrived, we were given a room on the 4th floor, which requires using stairs it is the only room on the 4th floor. More importantly, the air conditioning in our room was not working. We immediately brought this to the hotel’s attention and asked to be moved to another room, but they refused. I had already read reviews stating that the air conditioning had not been working properly in room 400 during July and August, so I specifically raised this concern with the hotel. They told us that they would send a technician to fix it. We left the hotel and returned after 4:00 p.m. When I asked whether the air conditioning had been fixed, I was spoken to rudely and simply told again that it “works.” We went back to our room and it clearly does NOT work. There is only a floor-standing fan blowing warm air around the room. It is currently 34 C outside, with the sun shining directly into our room, making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. A floor-standing fan circulating warm air is absolutely not an acceptable substitute for functioning air conditioning. What makes this even more frustrating is that our friends are staying on the 3rd floor, and their room is very cool because the air conditioning in their room is working properly. This clearly demonstrates that functioning air conditioning is available in the hotel and that the problem is with our room #400.. uncomfortable and disappointed !

Beautiful property very spacious and quiet. The staff is super attentive and helpful. We had a great time and looking forward to coming back again soon!

The room was very nice, and had air conditioning. It was tucked in a quiet alley, but they had very good security on the doors as well. The staff was so helpful, and let us check in early. They also carried our bags up the stairs. When we go in our room they also provided a free bottle of prosecco which was amazing. Also when we got dropped off in the water taxi it was a three minute walk to the hotel. The train is also a three minute walk so that was great! We loved our stay at this hotel. No complaints

The staff are not helpful at all, people have to self-serve for the luggage for a $500/night the bathroom is very small, the shower is not clean and the mat in the shower was so gross that my husband had to wear slippers to shower, my daughter and I rather skipped shower even though we were so smelly and sticky from sightseeing the weather in Venice is still so hot (93 degrees) the breakfast is pretty much continental breakfast with no hot food at all and the dining room is very small, no window and can only accommodate 8 people at a time

A little unusual set up. We had a fair experience.

Location

The staff were very helpful in holding our luggage until check-in time. They also gave great advice on site seeing - great for us first timers. So much to do so close by - wonderful experience!
