Very Good

The staff is very kind and the place is very peaceful. Their breakfast is a great way to start the day and its early schedule encourages healthy habits that allowed us to enjoy our visit to the fullest. The wooden beds and furniture are old so expect a little bit of squeeky sounds if you move to much. Considering its religious characteristics, they’re welcoming of non-religious guests but ask that their curfew and religious background is respected. Overall an excellent stay.
Casa Caburlotto'd bathrooms lock from the inside when you shut the sliding doors . In the 2 nights we spent there, it happened to us and to another guest of the hotel. The receptionist did nothing, and the hotel didn't offer a discount, even though we couldn't use our room's bathroom. we were invited to use a common toilet instead, and we were told that there weren't available rooms to change us to. So basically they ruined our holiday in Venice, never apologised and offered no compensation. AVOID CASA CABURLOTTO!

Liked: Staff & service
Basic room, do not expect anything fancy. We had an ant infestation in our on the morning we were checking out. We let staff know.
The worst stay ever. Don’t waste your time or money here. This is a “church hotel” with many rules. I’ll start with the service they provide. Casa Carbulotto has a strict curfew that you need to follow. If you return past the time you will not be allowed into the hotel until the following morning 6am. No exceptions for flights period. Expedia doesn’t allow photos to be uploaded otherwise I would post their small smelly old squeaky beds. They have a dress code to cover your knee’s & shoulders while in the lobby, mind you Venice is hot year round. Bring your own towels they only offer 1 large & 1 small per room.
This place doesn’t deserve 1 star, if you stay here you will be the one writing the next bad review. 💩🏩
We chose the property for its excellent location and that part did not disappoint. However, the place is run down, very basic, and the breakfast was minimal and very basic.
Nice little place next to the train station. Wonderful staff and interior was very clean. Breakfast was an unexpected plus. Close to the train station was good for our trip. A/C super cold and welcomed after long hot days in the city.
Our room was kept very clean, the AC wonderful, the beds comfortable, the included breakfast is light and good. The good thing is that it is situated at walkable distance from Santa Lucia Train Station. The not so good is that San Marco Square si far, 30 min. walking, not very pleasant under the July sun!
Ok its a catholic religious hotel witth a curfew (12-6am) but go with it. It suits the city and its a great deal. Get a waterbus pass and enjoy the most stunning city in the world.
A breakfast “buffet” should not come with restrictions. The breakfast options are VERY limited. One of my daughters is vegan and there was nothing for her to eat, not even a single piece of fruit. I was given a warning by one of the nuns not to take a 2nd cup of coffee and that it is one coffee per person. How ridiculous is that? My other daughter doesn’t even drink coffee. I was so embarrassed and that ruined the rest of the trip for me.I am a catholic person, but they made me feel like I am sinning every time I ate. The nuns are always watching you even when you think they aren’t. They make you feel like you’re a horrible person for taking 2 pieces of bread instead of one. The coffee cups are so small you are practically getting 1 or 2 sips of coffee and they don’t let you get any more. In the meantime, on our last morning, we saw one of the sisters making herself a cup of coffee in a cup that is 3 times bigger than the ones they give to guests.
The room conditions aren’t great either. The walls are peeling and falling apart and the room is filled with mosquitos. They have a mosquito repellent in the room that doesn’t work at all. After our daily hunt for mosquitos,we would still wake up with multiple new bites. By the end of our 5 night stay,we were covered from head to toe in mosquito bites.
Remember to bring your own soap because they don’t give you much.
The reception staff was great and very kind and friendly but that was the only positive I can give about our stay.
Great way to visit Venice on a budget. Super friendly staff very helpful in every way. Wish I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended 5 stars. Cheers 😃

The breakfast was nice. It was quiet there. The curfew didn’t bother us. Though we did get some mosquitoes bites. Best to shut windows at night, no screen. Have an elevator which was nice

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
Limited choice for the breakfast.
The bed and pillow are uncomfortable.
The change of towels is not daily.
Staffs are friendly and welcoming.
Great location and cleanliness of the hotel. Walking to train station and all attractions. The only 4 star I gave is for age of the building and rooms. Looks very old but in perfect condition. I didn’t stay in other hotels in Venice but I assume all are old as well as the city is old and they can’t demolish buildings. Anyway, great hotel, staff and price and I recommend it.
