I couldn't sleep because bugs bit my whole body.
When I spoke to the counter, they responded that they would clean it well.
There is a bar next to the hotel, so it is noisy late at night.
The smell of cigarettes enters the room.

Considering you’re paying for convenience, something else will get compromised right?
Space. The room is puny. Barely comfortable for “get in and out” kind of traveler. Shower is old school and can leak out so, I would be careful or use towels to alleviate.
Venice is not necessarily the cleanest town so I would keep your standards tamed.
Very basic yet dirty room, I had possible bed bug bites, no water in the room, no kettle too, thirsty to death during the night. Beds were wobbly. Would not recommend, even though the location is nice, however, consider the small size of Venice city, every single hotel in Venice city is close to town Center.
Very badly kept. Walls and furniture dirty, wall paper cracked and detached, handles on furniture missing, electrical wires dangerously exposed, lightbulbs missing, humidity mold inside furniture. Good thing we had only one night stay. Breakfast included but not good... coffee is awful
Location excellent but the hotel was run down, room very small and dingy. Reception is across the road at another hotel but there’s no note telling you this. Staff helpful.
When we entered the room, we found a wasps infestation in our bathroom; we counted 21 of them on the window, flying around and occasionally landing on us. We notified the concierge immediately, and he promised to take care of it. When we returned in the evening, the wasps were still there so we had to use alternative accommodation. We haven't touched the bed or used their breakfast. When my husband brought up this issue at checking out, explaining that this info would be in the review, the concierge just said - so be it, and walked away. No apologies, nothing.
Chose Hotel Diana for its central location to San Marco Basilica, St Marco square, Doges and ability to travel everywhere. The tours to the above places and walks with guides were excellent (booked whilst n Venice), all were excellent. The room was what’s needed, though the bathroom could do with an upgrade, a lights needed, the shower head needs to spray feature land there were some smells from bath drainage but think that’s standards for Venice, and manageable by shutting the bathroom door. Breakfast included was standard continental from 8am so you can start the days itinerary early. Receptionists were generally helpful. I would stay again for the central location, or look around there’s lots of hotels. There’s lots of places locally to eat and people friendly so didn’t try the hotel food there was a menu in the reception area. Must visit Murano next time and do a glassmaking workshop and venture more widely. Overall a great first expedience of Venice.
