Good value, nice stay
Very comfortable beds. Great to have a balcony. Some parts of our room need to be updated (bottom of bathroom door was peeling apart, microwave was on its last legs). Convenient to stores and restaurants. Cleaning staff were friendly. Pool was clean and at a comfortable temperature. At breakfast there were tea bags but no hot water. Also, there was no decaf coffee.

Amazingly comfortable beds. Cleaner than my house. Wonderful AC. Ample parking. Multiple convenience eateries within a couple of minutes walking. Fair price. Will be here again when attending fair events.

After returning from my day trip I was there 3 days and I noticed as in previous days the room was not touched while I was away. No refresh of the towels or cleaning of the bathroom but my main concern was the 2 trash cans were overfilled with trash. The next morning I heard the cleaning lady in the hall rolling past my room. I quickly opened the door and placed the trash cans in the hall and said I have something for you. She took the trash bags out and left the cans in the hall not bothering to return them. I caught her again later in the day and had her swap out dirty towels. So much for service with a smile. The next night I was laying in bed watching TV and saw a large American Cockroach climbing up the wall from behind the dresser. I disabled him and dropped him in a cup. I took it down to the front desk and told the clerk she needed to show it to the manager to call for an exterminator visit. She very smartly asked me ...sir where are you from? She told me this is Florida and that's not a cockroach but rather a palmetto bug. Ahhhh Lady, if you google Palmetto bug you'll discover it's a regional name but it's still a cockroach. When I returned to the room I moved the dresser to see where our little friend came from. On moving the dresser I found 2 cockroach traps behind there with dead German cockroaches in them. It dawned on me that Mgt knew very well these rooms are probably cockroach infested. On moving the dresser back I nudged 1 of 2 now overfilled once

I stay here regularly. They serve coffee in the lobby in the morning only, but the hotel is next to Dunkin Donuts anyway. I like this hotel and would recommend it.

Join rooms walls and floors need updating tack strip exposed through doors walls need paint other than that need an update in bathroom old shower. Landscape good pool good beds good Lady at counter was great

Disgusting
The room was dirty, there were stains on the walls, the bedsheets were stained, we saw a few roaches and we complained and considered checking out earlier but were told we couldn't because we booked through hotels.com and not them so we would not get a refund. Never again will i stay at a Howard Johnson. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Expedia was the only problem in regards to this particular booking. The application changed the booking date and it took me one hour to get them to correct the problem and reschedule my booking with the manager at the front desk. Saved $7 and lost 2 hours of our time to include the time of the location manager who had to work with us and Expedia to Create a new reservation. Expedia is never worth the aggravation.
