The staff was very friendly, the historic property way beautiful and well maintained. Dinner was excellent and moderately priced with a great selection of food and wines.. it lived up to all my expectations.I hope to visit again.
We had a wonderful stay here! The agroturismo style was just what we wanted. At the restaurant we had one of the best dinners we have ever had, EVER, and the view on the patio is amazing. The owner fit us in and gave us a tour of the property and we got a private tasting of the vinegar, which was like nothing I’ve ever had. I’d stay here again!

Disliked: Cleanliness
The main issue we had was the fact that the room we ended up getting (and it was the last room available because there was a wedding) was not the room I had booked. I had booked a suite with one bedroom and a living room with fireplace. Instead they gave us a two bedroom (with a second room with twin beds which we didn’t have a need for) and no living room or fireplace. I wanted to leave. But there was no other hotel available nearby and we had no choice but stay. The cleanliness was also questionable as in the room we found ants, spiders and a giant spiderweb hanging from the ceiling. I took pictures. The staff was helpful and apologized about the room being different (I didn’t bother complaining about the bugs) and offered us a bottle of white wine with our dinner, which was nice but still did not make up for the different room and bugs. We were in a rush and had to leave but I should have not been charged for the suite because that is not the room I have been given.
As a one night stopover on a drive from Assisi to Como, Cavazzone was a little slice of paradise in the country. This working farm/Inn completely exceeded our expectations. Gorgeous setting, historic significance, warm hospitality, delicious dinner and breakfast plus a tour of the balsamic vinegar facility made for a very special stay.
We stumbled upon Cavazzone as hotels in Parma and Modena were sold out. This is a magnificent historic property that is celebrated as making the best Balsamic vinegar. The property, about 700 years old, is most lovingly restored, the views from atop the hill are breathtaking. We booked a large suite a night before our arrival for $92. It should be a thousand dollars. A great steal. The restaurant is terrific. Review the photos, some a hundred years old, in the photo album. Take a small bottle of Balsamic vinegar - larger, if you are a connoisseur

rustic ,beautiful property, large rooms and a great place for a quiet retreat.
Be careful do NOT use a GPS to get there. Will take you to the wrong place or thru the wrong roads. Beautiful view and great staff. Breakfast was awesome. Rooms need AC and Hair dryer.
Thank you
They could add some variety to there breakfast, if you stay there for a long time it's the same pastries every morning . Not much else. Very friendly waitress.
in just one word. Perfect. But, they make you add more. The location is just wonderful. A trattoria up the road and a ristorante right down the road. Fantastic food.
We have enjoyed staying in this family's city property (Hotel Posta in Reggio Emilia)and wanted to have the 'country' experience. We were lucky to have a friend drive us and collect us as the road is narrow and windy and a distance up in the hills- but well worth it! fabulous views and fascinating explanation of their locally produced traditional balsamic vinegar. Area is lovely for a country walk and the restored farmhouse is as cosy and historic as you would expect. Food is delicious (some evening staff a little formal). A memorable stay!
A wonderful beginning to our Italian vacation. We arrived very late and the staff waited for us with a beautiful bottle of wine and a platter of their own balsamic vinegar with 24 month prosciutto salami and quiche tarts for my vegetarian daughter. Our room was more like a huge apartment. Comfortably appointed every room had a spectacular view of the surrounding hilly countryside.
The staff was warm and welcoming
and when we ventured into the town below the mountain we were on we found the best gelato shop, lovely taverna for lunch and pleasant inhabitants.
The second night we dined in the hotels restaurant which was a treat.
The wine was local and perfect for my veal in balsamic and my husband had pork. My daughter had the best homemade ravioli. And best of all the rooms were inexpensive for what they are and so was the restaurant.
wonderful property with magnificent views and friendly staff who waited up late for us to arrive. Would recommend using exact GPS coordinates to locate the property. Wish we had more time to tour the rest of the property.
This charming, rustic inn was the perfect beginning of our Italian vacation. Perched on a hilltop with a beautiful panorama of the Tuscan countryside, our room in this agriturismo situated on property owned by the same family for over 500 years, was spacious and comfortable. A small kitchen area provided a chance to store the cheeses and meats we were acquiring for a snack. The restaurant offered delicious meals or just a glass of wine while soaking up the sun. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. If the opportunity is available, request Umberto to give a tour of the family’s balsamic vinegar production. The location was ideal, offering a country experience while close to Reggio Emilia, but a car is a must. The inn was somewhat hard to find at first as its address does not show up on tools like Mapquest. The key is to get to the town of Albinea and either call from there or ask directions.
