The property is ideally located for a short visit to Vienna. Naschmarkt, just a couple of mins walk has lots of good restaurants. City not much further. Room was OK but tired. Tea/coffee provided but had to ask for milk. Were told it's not provided but they did get some from the kitchen. Beds were made daily, but tea/coffee not replenished and used sachets/cups (paper) not cleared away. Mini bar prices provided but no drinks in the fridge. We thought we should tell reception in case they thought we'd drunk the lot :-) We were told they don't put drinks in the fridge - other than 2 bottles of complimentary water (sparkling). Staff were OK and answered questions but service with a smile would have been nice.
We were happy with our stay at the Carlton Opera with only a few regrets. Upon our arrival, a rather surly porter took our bags up to our room via the elevator and grumbled about his $ 3.00 tip where others elsewhere had been happy with their tip. Breakfast was very good, but no other meals were offered. The room was fine except for the TV which had a weird system of set and cable-box; the remotes would not turn on the set and gave their options in Spanish only. The first night we had no TV, and the second night I found the secret--switch the TV on and off manually... Vienna itself was hot, and required much walking. The hotel was not as near to the centre of things as it was nowhere near the State Opera. All in all, though, a good experience.
This hotel is just outside the Ringstrasse and a few blocks away from the Naschmarkt. It is within walking distance of all the major sites in Vienna. It is clean and has everything that you would need during your visit. The room we had was on the 1st floor just off the lobby, but was a quiet room away from the street - window looked out on the atrium. It had separate bath and WC. This is in an older building and we had no issues with the wi-fi. The staff was very accommodating to our requests. The breakfast provided in the dining room was very good! The only downside was that the mattresses and pillows were very soft, but when you're tired, you'll fall asleep. We recommend this hotel.
The location near the Naschmarkt is great, but there are also charming neighborhood restaurants nearby. Hotel staff was exceptional in recommending restaurants and helping with logistics.

We were quite disappointed with the overall condition of the apartment to start the shower wasn’t working actually the hose was leaking the tub was high off the floor the wooden floors were very poor condition some boards were rotting the tv wasn’t working and the overall appearance was not welcoming the kitchen was in my opinion very poorly equipped again I want to be fair as this applies only to the residence part of the hotel
This hotel is in a fantastic location, about 12-15min walk from the Vienna Staatsoper (basically the centre of the city), and 5 minutes walk from the subway. The room was very quiet and very large. The decor was a bit dated but happy with it for the price-point. There are hotel style rooms and also serviced apartments with kitchens available. Staff were very obliging and there is free wifi.
More or less ok. But the taxies they order for you based on the fixed price - turned to be not the case as the tax drivers ask for higher price at the end of you trip. The clients should be aware of that problem.
Could not fault the helpfulness of the staff and the hotel obviously tries hard to keep up a good standard. Small bedroom but perfectly adequate for just using as a base for sleeping. Extremely comfortable bed and the room was quiet. Location very good for accessing the main centre attractions of the Opera House etc. - 15 minute or so walk. Underground within easy reach as well.
The entrance from Muhlgasse was very grand - it felt like we were staying in a very posh place. The apartment was roomy and very comfortable. Staff were all efficient, friendly and helpful.
Pros:
- awesome location near museums, restaurants, the train station and the city center.
- really good breakfast that was full of variety
- had an awesome room with a small kitchen, laundry and a spacious sitting area.
- staff were knowledgeable, friendly and fluently spoke English and German.
Cons:
- the hotel is split between two buildings and was originally difficult to figure out
Overall: a great place near the heart of Vienna for a very reasonable price. We would definitely come back.
