Room very small, positioning of shelving behind head a strange choice as had to arrange pillows to prevent banging head while resting. Housekeeping noisy from early so no chance of a lie in, and knock repeatedly despite the fact we said we did not need Housekeeping to reception. Expensive stay for what it is, not value for money

I have stayed in this hotel a few times and it used to be ok. But now this hotel is falling apart. The heat in my room didn’t work. First, they gave me an electric heater instead, but I was worried about fire hazard, as the heater could only be on or off without temperature regulator. So they moved me to a different room, which took forever as the heat didn’t work in several other rooms either, so they had to find one where it actually worked. The bathrooms need to get renovated as well. I almost cut myself with a metal piece when trying to regulate the water temperature in the shower. It also seems like the rooms aren’t getting cleaned thoroughly anymore either, they were very dusty and the water glasses were completely dirty and disgusting. I asked for a price reduction because of the heat issue but they weren’t willing to do that. This was certainly the last time I stayed at this hotel. For $250 a night I expect more. Very disappointing.

This is a good hotel and tucked away down a cute avenue, but the location requires transportation to anything you are likely to want to see, and the room, while cute was fairly small compared to other hotels we stayed at in Europe. Staff was good, and the restaurant was also good, but pricey for what was served.

This hotel was great for us. We could walk from the hotel to the Wien Mitte Landstrasse train and subway station to get to and from the airport and to all the sites in Old Wien. The hotel design was unique and we loved the charming alley with shops and restaurants in the middle of the hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful and spoke English and there was someone at the desk all time. The room was the usual Austrian super clean, plus it was charming. We stayed here twice and had the first time the room with two single beds and the second time a week later a large king bed in a suite which we were upgraded to because they were short on regular king suites. Our first room was along the alleyway and it was fun to open the window and hear the conversation of people eating outdoors at the restaurant. It was very quiet with the window closed. Our second stay was on the other side of the alley and you couldn't hear a thing! We felt that the price was very reasonable. We walked or took the subway to all the downtown Vienna sites and felt totally safe. There are two grocery stores, a Billa and a Hofer on Landstrasse, both nearly adjacent to the hotel entrance. We didn't eat at their restaurant, but we spent a nice evening and had a great meal at the restaurant in the alley just inside the entrance from Landstrasse and it was great. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Wien.
