A Serene Getaway in Vik – Luxurious Comfort Amidst Nature Hotel Vík í Mýrdal was one of the highlights of my Iceland trip. Nestled in a quiet, scenic location away from the city, the setting is truly peaceful — perfect for unwinding and soaking in the natural beauty of the southern coast. As many other guests have noted, “the location feels remote but is incredibly accessible,” giving you the best of both worlds. The rooms were modern, warm, and exceptionally well-designed. The washrooms stood out for their spaciousness and high-end fittings — a rare luxury in such a remote town. Everything felt clean, elegant, and thoughtfully arranged. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fantastic — generous portions, quality ingredients, and a great mix of local and continental options. This hotel was absolutely stunning—both the building itself and the surrounding area were incredibly beautiful. It has such an aesthetic, eco-friendly vibe that made the stay feel extra special. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, and the staff was so warm and welcoming. Parking was convenient, and the location couldn’t be better with plenty of food options nearby and a grocery store right across the street. A perfect blend of style, sustainability, and convenience—I’d definitely stay here again!

Great hotel, we stayed in the family room and it was great, breakfast buffet was also amazing! We ended up leaving early the last day and staff prepared a generous bag for each person. They have a northern lights wake up call if they are visible, which we signed up for, but didn't have enough visibility.

Great hotel, very nice. Bartender was good. Breakfast could have been better, but other than that the stay was great. Room was nice, bed was comfortable. Easy to walk everywhere in town. I wish we could've seen the northern lights but weather didnt cooperate.

1. Online checking system doesn’t really work - don’t waste your time on it (they will send you at least 3 emails and then SMS to do it). 2. Breakfast - average quality but you will find enough to eat including boiled eggs, some fruits, cold cuts, herring/salmon, oatmeal, vegetarian station with hummus/falafel but almost no veggies unfortunately. 3. Parking - free and spacious, no issues 4. Restaurant for dinner works till 9pm only with last order at 8:30pm 5. Rooms are very small (shower door was opening inside while no space to open it outside!), no space for 2 suitcases, no mini fridge 6. Walkable to the grocery store and some other restaurants

Pleasantly surprised because the hotel was much nicer than I had anticipated! Very clean, luxurious, spacious rooms, fancy shampoo/conditioner set from L’Occitane, good water pressure, clean water that didn’t smell like sulfur. We arrived on the later side and staff was available for check in. Breakfast was also good and staff was attentive to guests’ needs even during breakfast. The only downside was that humidity control in the room was lacking. I took a shower and there was a lot of condensation on the windows from a short shower. If I were to visit Vik, I’d stay here again
