Don’t book a standard room - choose elsewhere in the hotel, all standard rooms are placed in the old wing. Staff was very rude and snobby. Great breakfast - won’t be back.

Don’t let the unflattering photos on the hotel listing fool you- this property has an excellent restaurant for dinner and some solid amenities. The location is also excellent and we even saw whales swimming at the black sand beach across the street.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Vik i Myrdal, the room and beds were comfortable and airy, the bathroom spotless and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Parking was easy and it was quick to walk to the local shops and beach. Would recommend.

Fabulous, spacious rooms and hotel

A beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. We really enjoyed our stay here. The check in was easy and convenient with the app they want you to download and I have safety features on my phone when out of country where I cannot download apps. It would have been good to get that information sooner but we booked the stay last minute, so that’s on me. But just a warning for those who aren’t into downloading apps. The front desk staff was lovely and I will definitely come back to this hotel when we visit Iceland next.

A very nice overall experience. Checkin and check out was quick and easy. Public areas and restaurant were spacious and comfortable. Overall ambience was very pleasant and comfortable. Rooms were a little on the small side, but bed was comfortable. Easy place to recommend.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very nice hotel and the rooms were excellent. The continental breakfast had so much variety and the food was freshly made. The staff at the registration desk were also accommodating letting us borrow an electrical converter for the night.

Iceland was experiencing a summer wind storm so we spent a portion of our evening at the hotel. The location is close to restaurants if you want something different. The bar at the hotel was lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. It was easy to find and has parking. Overall a great stay.

I would not stay there again if it was free. The floors in the hallway and the room were dirty. See photo and zoom in, housekeeping kept walking by and not cleaning it up. They don’t have washcloths at the hotel annd the towels were dingy and old. Our window was not working and the beds were uncomfortable. The free breakfast was absolutely horrible. Didn’t even bother to eat it.
