Efficient heating system
We enjoyed staying in this hotel, and in Vik. We spent 2 nights here. The only drawback that we found was that there was no thermostat, and the heating system was quite effective, meaning that our room was too warm and we only had one tiny window that would open. The service was wonderful, breakfast was good, and I would stay here again, I would just know to have cooler Pajamas.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, and the warm water in the shower was perfect after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices to start the day off right. The location is excellent, being close to major attractions, which made exploring the area easy. Additionally, there are many great restaurants nearby, offering plenty of dining options. Overall, a great choice for anyone looking for comfort and convenience.

Close to a hill for viewing the Northern Lights. Our room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator. If you have difficulty with stairs, ask where your room is before booking. Otherwise it was clean and suitable.

Very clean and taken care of, notwithstanding that it is on a dated side. Renovations required. Convenient quiet location within walking distance from 2 great cafes. Strange forced ventilation is going off right after the checkout time which has strong chemical odour and very noisy which I discussed with the receptionist because I stayed a few nights. The tiniest sinks I've ever seen, you splash all over the floor when washing your face.

DO NOT RUIN YOUR TRIP and stay here. The pictures are from many years ago. The facility is old and creepy in a warehouse district with little to no amenities. The staff does the best it can but this facility needs to be put to rest. The breakfast is a joke. Plz don’t do it. You’ve been warned.

Very convenient to the Troll Expeditions Katla Ice Cave Tour! Vik is a great jumping off point for lot of stuff on the South Coast. Hotel feels a little dated but totally sufficient for a good night sleep!

Our only issue (which is actually kind of big) was how hot our room was all night! We were unable to sleep comfortably at all. Probably got 3hrs total. Only one window per room opens and it’s only a crack. I never thought I would be HOT in Iceland but it was like when our AC went out back home in Arizona. Otherwise you are getting what you paid for.

Our third trip to a Iceland and our first time staying at the Puffin Hotel. My wife Wendy and I stopped here on our road trip to Egillsstaðir. Check in was a breeze, the staff was super friendly. Our room was sparse but clean, typical Icelandic. The included breakfast was EXCELLENT. Delicious Skyr, fresh fruit etc. An easy walk to town, for another stop at Black Crust Pizza. Would definitely recommend the Puffin Hotel.
