Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Pictures Don't Do Justice for the Condition
The garden is beautiful and it is really relaxing to have fresh and delicious breakfast in such a uniquely decorated setting. However, my stay in the room was subpare. The building is old and it clearly shows in the hotel room. My friend and I stayed in the ground floor.
Perhaps they have renovated the upperstory, because the reviews I read online about this hotel do not match my own experiences.
The shower leaked like crazy in the bathroom; it created a nice nasty pool around the sink. The toilet button was practically falling out of the wall. There was dust everywhere that we discovered while wiping down the surfaces for Covid-19 precaution. And, the worst part, any movement upstairs (the room above you) is amplified. No muffling whatsoever. For almost 3 hours, my friend and I were joking about what our upstairs 'neighbors' could possibly be doing--walking from one corner of the room and back to the other. It was a nightmare and we barely got any sleep for our one-night stay at this boutique hotel.
I do appreciate that the owner allowed us to check out late, free of charge, as we wanted to relax at the beach and take a shower before leaving.
In summary, I think some small fixes/renovation needs to be done in the room(s), to create a more pleasant, boutique hotel feeling for the guests.
