We have been given a first floor “penthouse suite with ocean view”. So please be aware of this. There was a sewer line construction right in front of our bedroom. Resort is too big it takes 20 min to walk to lobby. Pools are ok but there is no natural beach on the property. I think it’s a pass for me next time.

Horrible experience compared to various others stays ive had in Hawaii. The rooms are not what the website shows, they are dated and have nats. When they did housekeeping they literally left a pile of dirty towels on the floor and an empty roll of toilet paper. Bell services was horrible and slammed the door on me because I told him I didn’t have cash for a tip but would come find him. Do not stay here. 0/10 do not recommend.

This is a large Hilton complex with the Ocean Tower being a long way from the main lobby. Once you get your bearings it turns out to be about a 12 minute walk between the two. There is a tram to take you around the complex. You had better like the sound of chirping birds. And I’m not talking a few birds, it has to be many hundreds of them. My room wasn’t near the current construction zone so their work wasn’t any issues for me. I found the staff to be very nice and helpful. The view from my room overlooked the pools with a slight view of the ocean in the distance. Lots of nice paths near the ocean to walk.

We stayed at one of the renovated rooms in Ocean Tower with partial ocean view. The view was magnificent! It’s more than partial in our opinion. Beautiful view of the ocean over the golf course.

The Hilton resort has very nice pools and beach areas and a beautiful location. However, our room in the Ocean Tower was very old and in need of a complete redo. We had to switch from our first room because of pest control issues, and our second room had a similar problem. The Ocean Tower is very far away from the parking ($50/night)so getting your luggage to and from your room requires a tram ride. (Trams run every 15 minutes.)

If you enjoy paying an eye-watering amount for an average hotel and parking and even more for the on-site restaurants ($55 breakfast buffet, $20 mixed drinks and $75 pizza) then this resort is for you. There's not much here that I can really recommend over literally any cheaper option. The Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower is the hotel located on the north edge of the resort and is either a long walk from the main entrance where you will be over-charged for parking or valet so you may choose to take the world's slowest tram (about as fast as I can walk). Then you get to listen to a cacophony of birds that scream most of the night while you try to sleep (maybe that's seasonal though). Would I ever go back? Nah, once was enough.

You Don't Always Get What You Pay For
The good: great room, very comfortable bed, and the shower was amazing. The bad: resort fees, 55 dollar breakfast buffet, being stuck away from any real restaurants and having to pay exorbitant prices because you are essentially stranded, everything is charged (come on, you're going to brag about the snorkeling and the charge me to rent a snorkel??), fees, fees, more fees. The ugly: when we first arrived, we walked up to the front desk clerk, very eager and happy to be on our vacation, "hi, how are you?" my wife said to the clerk, who was looking down and had ignored us for a couple of minutes. She finally, briefly looked up..."she can help you down there", then went back to whatever it was she was doing that was a lot more important than the customers. If you're going to charge fifteen dollars for a cocktail, put it in a glass. Wine in a glass is also a travesty. Many of the restaurants were closed. Avoid the store at all costs, unless overpaying by 50% for everyday items is on your buck list. Honestly, I think they are getting a lot of mileage out of the lagoon, which is pretty awesome. The rest of the resort quality doesn't match the prices. This was our third stay, each one progressively worse. There won't be a fourth.

nice room with great view, but needs updating.. furniture, tech/USB outlet, sliding glass door fixture, a/c . Why are there no self-parking at each tower? Valet rates are crazy high (i hope you pay valet staff well). There are no pre-info or notices that guests need to check in at the Tower booked. I went to the main lobby desk agent who condescendingly (and repeatedly) only said, ‘take the train, the Tower is the 3rd stop on the right’. What train??? My 1st visit to the property, so what train where!! [check-in at the Ocean Tower w/Jan was more friendly and courteous]. Not sure if it was because it was Thanksgiving, but there sadly was not very many places to dine. The one marketplace that was open didn’t offer much grab-n-go items. Nui was our only choice on property, which offerings were mediocre. Also, why only have microwaves on 2 floors? If you’re going to go that community usage route, at least have one on every floor. It’s ridiculous to have to carry food to a different floor. Trains run extremely slow. It’s actually faster to walk. On our 1st night, the train wasn’t available. One very slow boat was in operation. Not returning.
