Overnight stay at Warner Springs Ranch
The ranch is a little hard to find on Google Maps as we were driving over in the dark after viewing wildflowers in Anza Borrego- it's actually opposite the Warner Springs Ranch gas station. We were saved by an alert and super helpful security guard who spotted us! The cottage is small and cozy, with two heaters in case it gets cold. Basic amenities were provided. It was a good place for us to get a rest and sleep before heading back up to the Bay Area the next day.
Beautiful property. We loved the cottages and the surroundings. The cottages were reminiscent of old time holiday cottages we may have seen in magazines and on TV.
The check-in was tedious and the lady checking us in did not look happy to check in a colored couple.
The check -out person was cheerful and helpful.
Overall, a fantastic place to spend a few nights.
Kind of strange. Promised a fold-out bed which turned out to be a futon chair with a hard section for head and shoulders, and they didn't leave bedding. Didn't give us a gate fob to get back in at night--we were lucky that another guest came along who did have one and we followed them in. The restaurant at the golf course closes at around 5 PM on weeknights and the nearest other one is 14 miles away. Stopped at the guard gate to turn in our keys and the guard told us we needed to move quickly or the gate would close on our car. The cabins have charm, though, and it's very quiet out ther.
Warner Springs is a historic resort with fabulous bones but currently is mostly closed for renovation. It's almost sadder to see how amazing this place once was and that everything is closed off and empty, but hopefully someone will figure it out.
It was quiet and clean. The cleaning staff did not replace towels unless we asked for them. The food was good. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything going on next door and outside. I would recommend earplugs

The property has a great historic western feel. The property is under restoration so a lot of amenities (pool, Hot Springs) are not accessible yet.
The property was ok. The first night was cold the electric wall heater did not quite get it. No T.V was different. And having a full size bed was not to comfy. In a pinch it was ok.

Not worth it
Hard to find in the dark as there is no lighting on the poor signage. At the same time, it is impossible to even leave a bag there before the 4pm check-in time. Lobby non-existent, either a gas station across the street or a sketchy “security booth” at entrance. Guard/check-in guy (no way he gets to be called a receptionist) was short on manners but made up for it in attitude. Vague directions to cabin unaccompanied by map. Room was cute, snug, clean ...and a good thing because there was NO SOAP. Just lotion and conditioner (?!). And no phone to call the non-existent front desk. Very weak Wi-Fi. You can hear the people in the next room change their minds... Grounds are a mess. This place needs to get its act together. Way, WAY overpriced for value received.
Historic, rustic, but renewed, updated and entirely comfortable. A little off beat, and off the beaten track. Check in was unusual, but the friendly staff called ahead of time to make sure we knew what to expect, and were VERY helpful and accomodating.

Property is being remodeled , will be nice to go back in a year or so to check it out
Liked the room. It was clean and had large bathroom. Bed comfy. Complex looks like they're renovating. Stayed there to play golf and then they closed it for the day. So a waste. Not much in area. The restaurant across the street is good, but closes early as does the gas mart where you check in. Although all personnel we had contact with were very helpful and friendly.
Resort setting. Each room is a cabin. Spacious room. Clean. No central heating but a loud and small electric fireplace heater.

Very clean and quiet although adjoining wall a bit thin for noise control. Hardly visible at night.

Super quiet location- the walls are thin so thankfully our conference calling neighbors went to bed early. No TVs in the rooms was a plus. Very nice room for the price and close enough for desert wildflower hiking

This place is a hidden gem. I highly recommend it. Warner Springs is a very quaint historic town. The restaurant golf course across the street is excellent but unfortnately is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The nearest open restaurant is the Country Apple which is 15 miles away and is also very good.
Spacious, friendly, clean and quiet with helpful staff. Perfect place for a few days in the area, and all at an excellent price.
I will use again, and I highly recommend the place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life..
Very comfortable room in newly reopened portion of historic hotel in this very small mountain community. Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. No grounds ready yet. The only restaurant closes at 5 PM on Wednesday and Thursday, so dinner was a bit of a push!
