the front desk was super nice, however for a 4 star hotel there are one considerable shortcomings: out of three nights (and the 2 times for the staff to have to come in clean) the shower wasn't cleaned at least one time, with hair still all over and the cap of a tube still lying around. The pjs were jut thrown onto the night stand (not even on bed , or, god forbid! even folded, as you would expect from a 4 star hotel....?). The last day the complimentary water bottles were not provided. Hair dryer was not put away from the sink. A 5 am requested wake up call did not happen. Now to teh amenities: like other guests already commented: for a 4 star you would expect the lights to have a central switch at the bedside instead of having to switch off the lamps in the room individually. You would expect slippers. I applaud eco friendly but if that is code for : we don;t care to provide the usual passed some mediocre shampoo, conditioner and lotion , such as shower cap, q tips, possible toothpaste.... well.. not 4 star they apparently had some renovations on the lower floors. The upper floor where I stayed seemed to be near and yet looked quite dated and nondescript. this is hotel is conveniently located, convenient in its amenities but definitely not a 4 star but for a 5 star price... not sure this will persuade me enough to come back the next time

We were extremely disappointed in our recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Washington. We were informed in advance that construction might cause minor inconvenience. But for the entire duration of our stay, we were woken before 8am every morning by extremely loud noises right over our heads – hammers, drills, saws, sanders. We chose this hotel based on location, so that a chronically ill family member could easily return to the room and rest during the day. Due to the construction, it made it impossible to stay in the room during the day, let alone sleep. On top of that, the room was dirty, with dust and fingerprints easily visible on doors and furniture, and dirt and hair on the bathroom walls, door and ceiling. Yes, somehow, there were hairs on the ceiling. We asked to change rooms for the first 3 mornings of our stay, and were told there were none available. But when we looked online we could see your hotel advertising rooms on upper floors. Yet we were again told that we could not switch rooms. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told they would call us, but they never did. Our poor experience reflects very badly on both the Washington Hyatt and the entire hotel chain. Customers should not be subjected to so much noise and such poor treatment at any hotel, let alone the Hyatt.
