While I really like the Hive, MAN do they need to work on the "breakfast" service. I understand having a limited menu (4 items) but when you are out of half of them that is crazy poor planning.

Clean and Cool Small Hotel for a Weekend Trip
Room was clean and fine. Front desk was wonderful and super helpful. I love staying at these boutique hotels for that reason. Great location as well! Our only negative notes are that there is no top sheet, which just seems a little unhygienic, and the lock on the conjoined room was a tiny little slide lock. As a woman, I would have asked for another room for safety reasons had i been by myself. My husband just put our luggage in front of the door and called it a day. Last note, Hotels.com lists the king room as 200 sq ft. It was definitely smaller than that. Not sure if that is the property itself or hotels.com.

Great location for the price!
Hotel Hive was a great hotel very close to everywhere you want to be in Washington DC. I could easily walk to the Lincoln Memorial (0.3 miles) as well as the Kennedy Center. The rooftop bar was an added bonus!

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The bed has some black dirt from AC repairs, but the bedding was replaced upon our request. The elevator is incredibly small and the halls are very narrow. This is a microtel and although it was incredibly cute, it was super inconvenient for my fiance and I. Plus, we were on the wrong side of town for our stay. The hotel did refund us for the nights we opted not to stay. The front desk staff was very quick to help us resolve our issues.

Hotel Hive is nice in some ways and average in others. For reference, we stayed in a King Buzz room. PROS: - They had options for breakfast (not included) which were tasty. - A pizza bar, regular bar, & rooftop bar. - The building is attractive and so was the atmosphere inside. - More affordable than other hotels nearby. - Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. CONS: - Food options and drink options were very limited. - Feels like a budget hotel. - No mini-fridge in the room. - No drawers or closet space, only a foldable hook. - Carpet rough on your feet. - Soap in the bathroom was a bottle of shampoo. - Room located on the basement level so windows couldn't be opened. Felt stuffy and basement-y. - Low ceiling due to being on basement level. - Mattress was quite firm and uncomfortable for us. - Maid service never came to change towels or make the bed even when we took down the door sign. - There was a lot of noise outside of the room windows that sounded like garbage trucks all throughout the day/night, which was likely a generator or something because it was repetitive and consistent. - TV was in an awkward place on the wall, making it difficult to watch from the bed. - Location was on the campus of a nearby university, so all streets nearby were metered and they are VERY serious about the parking restrictions. Overall, it was an average stay with a decent vibe. However, if you're looking for more comfort or amenities, I would recommend somewhere else.

I only stayed 1 night because I attended an event at the Kennedy Center which is about 8 minutes walking so very convenient location for that as I didn’t have to spend money on taxi services. The rate for the hotel was reasonable. Street parking was okay, easy to find but the only down side is that my car had to be moved by 7a Mon-Fri or it’ll be towed. Hotel staff was nice, offered a free complimentary upgrade, house keeping was also nice. The pizza restaurant located in the hotel was pretty tasty! Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would book it again if I plan on visiting DC in the future.

Hotel Hive is great. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly. Room while small has everything you need- let's be real you're not there to sit in your room anyways. Will stay again next time I'm in DC.
