The staff was very kind, and the check in and out process very smooth. The room I was in was a little odd with a long kitchen-type area on one side and the vanity seating/closet outside the bathroom on the other, but that ended up providing a buffer between the sleeping area and the noise ongoing in the next room toward the end of my stay. Can hear kids arguing in the hallway and some sort of domestic dispute next door, so pleasant stay does depend on your neighbors though the AC can drown it out (AC was pretty loud coming on and off). Property is somewhat dated -- no screen on bathroom window (so lets in mosquitos which chomped on us a bit one night), no fan in bathroom making the use of the window necessary. The channels available on the TV were somewhat limited, with very few national-type channels, but that wasn't a focal point of the visit so very minor. Walking distance to GWU, White House, etc.

Great for GWU families.
Our daughter attends GWU and we always stay here. The staff is always excellent, from the front desk, bar tender to the cleaning staff, everyone is great. Make sure you bring $5/%10 bills to tip the door hops. They work really hard and deserve every penny. The only thing I do not like is that there is no fan in the bathroom and the mirrors fog up quicklly after a shower. I always have to open the window.

Cleanest hotel I've been to lately. Everything was spotless in the room. Valet service was very convenient as well. It's a very well located hotel. Very close to GWU. I'll keep staying at Hotel Lombardy every time I go visit my son in college.

The decor and atmosphere was comfortable yet attractive. The staff were all excellent and friendly. The rooms were nicely sized and provided a quiet place to rest. The beds are very comfortable.

Hotel Lombardy was disappointing. If you're looking to encounter insect wildlife in your bed, this is the place for you. My fiancé developed several large red spots on his foot and couldn’t sleep for even an hour due to irritation and a rash from the bugs. Additionally, there was no refrigerator in our unit, and we were informed that only two units on that floor lacked one. The only positive note: the outdoor staff, particularly the valet, were nice and respectful. I hope everyone has a nice stay there, unlike the experience we had.

My room was quite large. It is a very old school hotel with unique historical elements. The staff was an absolute joy. The corridors are dimly lit, so I would plan accordingly if you are traveling with family with a visual impairment. You may need to have a small flashlight. The location is very convenient and easily accessible via metro or bus. There are wide variety of eating and shopping options as well within walking distance.

Located in a central area near GWU. Metro is an easy 5 minute walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. An older building so there were some noticeable areas lacking, for me the biggest was how loud the air conditioning unit was. The restaurant was nice. Overall, we enjoyed our time there.

Gorgeous hotel with old timey vintage charm! Loved the little details in the hallways and rooms. The bed was comfortable and it was clean! Very hot water in the shower and sink and I loved that it was quiet for me to sleep. I had a room in the corner facing the back/side which was great. Was relatively affordable compared to others in the area! Many places to eat and drink around the hotel as well. Overall would definitely recommend this place to others and could come again!

When you book a hotel, you never know what you’re going to get until you get there. The Lombardy knocked it out of the park…great location, close to all DC tourist attractions (walkable or short Uber drive), wonderful options for restaurants nearby, wonderful in hotel restaurant and lounge. Staff was helpful and friendly, and the room clean with a very comfortable bed! We highly recommend.

What a refreshing alternative to the generic hotel chains! The environment was lovely and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I would encourage anyone looking for a diamond in the rough of all the available hotels in DC to give the Hotel Lombardy a try. Reasonably priced, fantastic restaurant, and a wonderful lounge. If ever back in DC our family will be sire to stay here again.

Nice size of rooms, separate living room and bedroom. Very quiet, clean and excellent location. Walked to see Whitehouse with my 8 yr daughter. There's a shopping store nearby (whole foods). Plenty to see and do. I highly recommend staying here. We had a car that we parked in a public parking garage near the hotel. The hotel parking is very expensive $60 per day. The pub parking is half that price. Ideally you should Uber, no need for car in this part of the city.
