Unacceptable: unexpected $6.60 charge for coffee from firefly restaurant attached to hotel. At the time coffee was offered in restaurant, charge was not specified and the proprietor gave the impression that coffee was free to hotel guests before 11 am. This was a surprise charge at checkout that the front desk refused to remove. Unwanted: Amenity fee $29 per day + $4.63 occupancy tax which was expected but not clearly enough described on hotels.com Unexpected: Mild flight noise from flights landing at DCI. Not very loud but noticeable in room 309. Poor: Desk too small and not enough outlets. Recycling bins too small and poorly described. Room shape, lighting and decor not pleasing Good: WiFi, Beds, Shower, Sink, Toilet, Closet, and nice purifed water refill by elevator. Staff at oddly positioned front desk were kind except the one there when we checked out. We will not return due to the unfair extra charge and other mediocrities listed

Check-in was a little slow, but otherwise it was very nice. They were very prompt with a couple of requests we had and the entire staff extremely friendly. The onsite restaurant, The Firefly, was nice with friendly staff.

I honestly have no complaints, this was a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. I was looking for a hotel in the West End area where it is walkable and safe, and this was the perfect location! I am always skeptical about booking first time with a hotel, but the conditions were surprisingly great. The beds are comfy, greater water pressure, they even have filtered water in the hallway. Will book again!
