Lovely Weekend Getaway
The lobby was undergoing some cosmetic changes when we arrived so check-in was fairly hectic. The Hotel also had a different name when we booked it, to what it is now. We also had to call the front desk around 3-4 times to have someone come up to our room to look at the air conditioning situation because while it was eco-friendly, it was very difficult to figure out. Overall, the hotel was really cute. It was perfect for a couple taking a weekend getaway, and the location cannot be topped. There are so mant restaurants and stores and things to do that are within walking distance. Having a rooftop bar as an option was lovely, as well. The only qualm we had with it was that the music was very loud.

Hoping the service catches up to its potential
I love the location and potential of the space. I will keep returning (for now). The parking spots were being repaved so entering the driveway was chaotic and I had to explain I was not going to back up into traffic-- the truck would have to pull forward to allow me to access garage. Finally entering lobby the staff was vacuuming and didn’t stop when I entered time between 2 pm and 5 pm has no food or drink options unfortunately but the music in all spaces was way too loud to have any conversation so my client and I went to Pastis instead. No coffee available in lobby until 7 so left and went elsewhere...

I picked this property specifically because of the alleged in-house eating options. The first morning we were told there was no chef available so we couldn’t eat there and had to venture out. The next morning, we saw a small offering of food, but when we moved closer we were told by staff that it was only for a group of people sitting in the dining area. So again, no opportunity to get food in the hotel as promised. Also, the last night of sleep was really uncomfortable because the AC malfunctioned. We woke up to a room that was 84 degrees in the morning. I told the worker at the front desk about both of these issues and she said that a manager would follow up with us via email. I even corrected her when she read my email back to me incorrectly. I’ve yet to hear from any hotel staff. I’d also like to add that being a native Spanish speaker may be the only way to receive welcoming service from some of the staff. There were times when my presence wasn’t even acknowledged (at check in for sure). On a positive note it’s a super cute hotel. The rooftop bar has great food and drinks. However, if the idea of sleeping beneath a nightclub is off putting I wouldn’t stay here. It didn’t bother me because I knew what I was getting into, but it’s something people should be aware of.

The staff and cleaning services are prompt and kind. However, the bedroom designs are not for larger parties. We stayed in a single queen and there was enough space to walk in, but not much else. The beds themselves were not for us as we aren’t super young or easy sleepers. The walls are also very thin meaning we could hear all tvs, conversations, and city noise. For those who are more comfortable inner city and staying for shorter stints this would still be a fine stay. Lastly, there is no parking included or provided. So there is a lot next door which costs $45 for overnight parking.

One night of little sleep
From both the outside and the inside the hotel looks great. All very industrial urban chic. However, the design of the rooms is awful. The room I was in was so small the sink was in the room rather than the actual bathroom because of its small size. But, worse than that, the walls must be built using some form of paper because sounds come through like they are in the same room. The guy in the room next to me was on the phone and I heard everything. Someone turned on a TV at 23:50 and I heard everything. And this is such a shame. The details of sound proofing being overlooked turns trying to sleep in this hotel worse than any hostel I've ever stayed at (for less than half the price) for being disturbed during the night and having so little sleep. Pick somewhere else if you enjoy sleeping.
