We ahve stayed at this hotel before. The only disappointment this time was the condition of the bathroom and the floor tiles in particular. There were some significant stains that were kind of disgusting to see when we were in the bathroom. We brought it to the attention of the hotel staff and to their credit they did go into the bathroom. However, they said the stains are permanent and could not be removed. They offered to move us to another room but we did not take the offer since we were only there one night and not returning to the room until late in the evening. I believe the hotel should find a way to remove the tiles and replace or get professional tile cleaners to come and get rid of the stains.
The only other surprise on this visit was being charged $15 for parking. We never paid that in the past and we never are charged for parking in hotels similar in brand to Hampton in Iowa City or Madison, Wisconsin etc. We travel a lot and stay in many hotels across the country similar in caliber to Hampton and we never pay for parking. Only in downtown Chicago or Minneapolis are we charged for hotel parking.
