Room was adequate - only thing I didn’t like was the barn door on the bathroom door. I’ll never understand this design decision for hotel bathrooms. Pool was on the small side- even for a hotel, no hot tub. Area around the pool was also small, not a lot of room to avoid the splashing kids. Area was nice, lots of restaurants and bars, so location was great. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Curtain had a stain, box spring had a stain, it can get loud if you have a room facing downtown. Overall it was ok. All the staff, however, were excellent. Super friendly and helpful. The location was great as well.

Conveniently located near social district and easily walkable to bars and restaurants and the river. I noticed several areas of ceiling water damage and other more worn looking/missing wallpaper in the hotel however our room was clean and bathroom/shower nice. Pillows could be much better though and didn’t appreciate the required $15 fee for parking when they didn’t even ask if we had a car.

This is my 3rd time staying in this hotel for an annual event. Last year was a nightmare due to a hotel-wide electrical issue that caused the key cards to not work and required that staff let everyone into their rooms each time they entered. This year

I had high hopes for the Hampton Inn after reading and comparing reviews of the property & others in the area. The staff was very friendly and the location is great. However, the room was very humid; it was so sticky it was hard to get comfortable. We stayed three nights so it was not a one off. The bathroom does not have a fan & the HVAC filter was disgusting (see photo) so I’m sure those issues contributed to the problem. The refrigerator didn’t work so the perishables we brought, well, perished. The icing on the cake was the bug bite I received the first night. I asked the staff to inspect the mattress just in case I had missed signs of bed bugs. It was clean. I was informed they have a spider issue because the hotel is next to a river. They looked at & photographed my bite & concluded that was indeed a spider. I’m not sure what could have been done but I was nervous about getting more bites over the next two nights. Luckily, I didn’t. The staff changed the HVAC filter & replaced the refrigerator the day after we arrived.

Location was good being about to walk to the downtown shoppes. What I didn’t like was the bed and the chairs in the room. The bed was stiff like sleeping on a piece of plywood causing sleeping to be restless and getting up sore and stiff. The chairs in the room were not very comfortable either making it very difficult to relax at all. I would not return for another stay.

Perfect room. Tons of counter space in the bathroom (loved the ledge above the sink), great water pressure. Comfy bed and pillows. The location was great, right next to the river walk park, across the bridge from a creamery, tons of places to eat in the quaint little downtown. Hurts Donut too just a couple blocks. Good coffee place right across the street. Ice water in the lobby & cookies were a nice touch. The staff, WOW, especially Kimberly, were so helpful & kind. I always check reviews before booking so I’d like to point out that I had no issues with the parking, it was 15 dollars for the whole stay (not each night). Internet was strong, and the air conditioning was perfect in our room.
