The Prince of Wales is a unique experience in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. We loved the afternoon tea, and the staff were all super helpful, patient and friendly.
Waterton is an amazing place to visit. The Prince of Wales hotel is a beauty to see as well. BUT DO NOT STAY THE NIGHT. The rooms are not updated to the price they are listed at, the rooms are dark and cramped, the bathrooms do not have vents so they smell, and the beds actually feel like the same beds used in the 1920s. Save yourself and your back and just find somewhere else to sleep.
The Prince of Whales Hotel is close to town but separate. The hotel staff was great, the story of the history of the hotel was amazing. The views were beautiful and hiking was wonderful in the area. It is quite windy which we weren’t expecting but that was part of the experience of a hotel on a bluff. The rooms were quaint and quiet.

Wonderful setting and good service in an historic hotel. Dining menu was limited but food service and quality was reasonable. Hotel exterior is in poor condition but inside is good - just adjust your expectations to that of a 100 year old hotel. Pricing reflects the remote location and mainly American clientele. But really, what you are here for is the setting and the views, which cannot be beat.

Iift worked and it was cooler!! Otherwise our experience was stellar!!🇨🇦😄👍
This was a wonderful hotel to stay in for 5 days. The rooms are charming and tidied every day. The food was absolutely excellent and very reasonable in price.
I liked that a Grizzle bear stopped by for a visit, hung around long enough for people to be daft and thus staff having to educate them, then the bear was escorted away by 2 rangers. It’s an amazing beautiful property in a stunning location. Go.
Excellent property friendly staff and great service

Disliked: Amenities
Not offering basic amenities like service elevator, microwave, refrigerator, air conditioner etc. it’s just awful experience. It’s look pretty from outside only.
The views are spectacular from the hilltop this Hotel sits on. It is a 100 year old building though so be aware the rooms are smaller, and it does not have what most hotels have, like Television in the room, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. In fact you can't get a complimentary cup of coffee and the meals in the dining room are quite expensive. It was definitely a splurge to stay here on our vacation.
