The air conditioner worked strangely - it was unclear whether it could be set manually. The room overall was clean.

Regularly stay at this hotel however think twice now moving forward. So I booked a double room. When we arrived the lady at check in mentioned the beds lower than normal bed. However they have an upgrade option for different room at an additional cost. With being not to fussed about a lower bed we declined the offer to pay extra. However upon entering the room it was quickly apparent that the room we had been assigned to was for disabled wheelchair access with the bathroom being a wet room rather than a traditional shower and or bath. It was not just the bed that was lower every aspect and feature was. My distain is not just about the room it’s the cheekiness of the offer to pay for an upgrade. Hotels should be honest about the rooms available at time of booking. Hotels should not be giving disabled suitable rooms away to those that do not require them and to have the nerve to clearly admit they have other room if you want to pay.

Great hotel close to Watford Junction and High Street. Bar open until midnight if you want a post-dinner drink. Beware: this place does not take any cash, which for me is a negative and the only thing stopping it from being 5 star. Pity.

Early check-in is not available unless you pay £40. I thought this was a form of a money grab after they stated that your room was not ready, but you could pay £40 if you wanted to check in early.

Loved the location of the hotel for shopping. Facilities at the hotel were great. Parking was a bit dodgy - when we went to pick the car up we had to navigate the residents of the staircase and their scary dog!!
