Came to Wellington for The Food Show which is held at The Stadium the other end of town but this year wanted to stay in a different part of CBD. Bay Plaza Hotel was an easy walk from the Airport bus route and staff were welcoming and happy to store bags until room was ready. Room was spacious enough to be shared by 2 friends and the frequent buses made it easy to get around. Will happily stay again when visiting Wellington.

Loved the service and friendly staff. Although we had a room on the top floor, there was quite alot of noise through the night from roadworks below. Not much the hotel can do about that but was just something to note if you are a light sleeper.

ONLY ONE PROBLEM: Ancient Heating! After I arrived and checked in, my room was very cold, and there seemed no heating. I rang the receptionist and she told me there was a panel on the floor under the windows with a screw that had to be turned to turn on the heater. I tried this, and waited over an hour, but nothing.Then i tried the screw again which was very stiff and finally it turned. After over an hour there was heat...and it was ok after that. Management should inform customers that this archaic form of heating is all they have. And it may be difficult to use. Maybe other rooms are better.....other than that, the room was lovely, wonderful views, clean bathroom, nice bed and pillows....and when i returned in the evening the room was very warm....so pretty good after all. Thankyou.
