Pros: Diving instruction on-site Tasty restaurant on-site with friendly staff Right on the beach Bed is very comfy Public buses almost everywhere and very cheap ($2.50 USD/person to anywhere)and will stop anywhere they see you Room very nice and with the exceptions noted below There is a communal kitchen Property manager was very accommodating Cons: Cost extra for shampoo/toiletries/towels/more than 1 housekeeping a week Bathroom door hard to shut cause it's hung a little crooked Manager wasn't on-site most of the time we looked for her during the business hours (she could be contacted by phone, WhatsApp, and email though) Beach is rocky covered with urchins Water takes at least 2 minutes to get hot plus it's hard to pinpoint a decent temperature Bathroom light switch outside of bathroom Housekeeping didn't replace dirty glassware No phone or microwave in room Towel rack fell apart easily (and other fixtures loose)

Good but quirky

This was a nice place to stay, gorgeous views and friendly staff. Be prepared for some unexpected quirks. For example, there was no deadbolt lock on the door, so no way to ensure that staff didn't enter while you were indisposed in the room. Our shower just kept getting hotter the longer it ran, regardless of the temperature setting, so I couldn't take a cool shower after getting sunburned. Same issue with regular water for filling a water bottle (or just having a glass of water), and no ice machine, so had to keep bothering the bar staff to fill up my water bottle. Somehow the fan in our room must have hit its resonant frequency, because we had it on the lowest setting but it would speed up to the highest over the course of a day, without us touching any controls. The restaurant tables are very close to the pool, so no privacy there for guests, but at least the bar staff will serve you at poolside. Also, onsite restaurant was nice but one of the most expensive we encountered on the island. Cobalt Coast was nice, just lots of little quirks that added up over our stay.

The sea view room we had was excellent. The coffee was very strong and only small cups and there was no way to make tea. We reported the safe was shut and she said someone would come to unlock it, but they didn’t. We didn’t bother to report it again as we felt it was quite safe. We couldn’t snorkel as it was too windy. We did walk to Macabuca Tiki bar and grill and snorkelled from the dive shop ladders. It wasn’t as windy there.

We loved our ocean-view king: lovely room, nice balcony, coffee and fridge, great dive shop staff, nice pool and hot tub, lots of fish in the reef and the area right off the property’s dock, lovely restaurant with charming staff. We didn’t have a car, but had no trouble getting public buses to and from great snorkel spots down the west coast and around the south shore, or to the Botanic Gardens. They stop at Finch and Fountain (heading east) or Andersen and Birch Hill Road (heading north) in a loop that goes past Foster’s (a big grocery store) and heads down Seven Mile Beach to Heroes Square in Georgetown, where you can transfer to east end or Rum Point buses.

Great hotel with brand new rooms, nice onsite restaurant and friendly staff. It’s a bit away from the action of Seven Mile so you’ll need a car to get around. Free onsite parking helps. AC and WiFi worked great. Only thing missing was a full length mirror in the bedroom and a shelf in shower for toiletries. The safe is not secured to wall/closet so we didn’t use it. Communication from check-in to housekeeping services were done via WhatsApp. I’d stay at Cobalt again. Besides Nova, our fave places to eat/drink were Tillies for meals/drinks, Bonny Moon for beach club action, Island Naturals for breakfast/brunch, Heritage for Caribbean food and Mykonos Bakery for pastries. Be ready to spend as Grand Cayman is a VERY expensive island!

We like the location and set up it was very nicely done and and the staff were very pleasant. But sleeping was difficult due to someone sliding what sounded like furniture and clunking around at really late hours of the night above us every night. Hope they finished what ever it was they were doing. A bit of a turn off was having dive training in the pool made us feel out of place to enjoy it while a class was in training. Also could use some clear do and don't as for the peer use. We were a bit confused on if we could snorkle off the peer or not but did not want to infringe on the associated scuba dive training business located on the property. The food and drinks were Good at the restaurant.

Beautiful property! Was hoping to shore dive but due to high surf they take the dock out in winter months. Glad we had a car as it’s pretty secluded compared to 7 mile beach. But nice and quite more our vacation speed. Diner and lunch at the restaurant were delicious and the staff was very friendly.

The property at Cobalt Coast is beautiful and it is attached to Nova Restaurant which has phenomenal staff and food. Unfortunately our room left a little to be desired. When we booked the room it was for one King bed. The bed was two twin beds pushed together which was very uncomfortable for my Fiancé and I. Unless you wanted to feel like you were falling in between the beds, we basically had to sleep separately. The bathroom door hinges were really rusty and very loud every time we had to open/close the door. One of us is a light sleeper which was not fun when the other would get up to use the rest room at night. The bath mat in the bathroom was dangerous, we slipped tons. Could be dangerous for an elderly person. The owner was nice and greeted us, gave us the rundown and useful information. She said she would send us some contact info for taxis/tour we were interested in. She didn’t but the restaurant staff was very helpful. There aren’t really hotel staff on site it’s more so the restaurant staff that helped us. Other than that the room was beautiful and clean. It had a fridge which was nice so you can get some groceries and make snacks. The views were amazing, walking out of your room with a Sea view and an amazing restaurant with excellent food and staff. The Nova restaurant only serves breakfast on weekends but it was great when we had it. Overall an amazing experience, I’m not sure if we’d come back to the hotel per se but we will definitely be back to Nova!

Remote, Peaceful, Beautiful

I extended a sports trip in Cayman for 5 extra days to experience the island. I chose Cobalt Coast for it's exterior ameities: pier, snorkeling, pool, hot tub, deck, bar and they were all excellent and as described. I loved the set up with the bar overlooking the pool overlooking the beach and the ocean. My room on the top was nicely appointed but it was small and mostly just good for sleeping. The bathroom was beautiful. The best part was probably the service at the bar and the dive shop. All the bartenders and hosts were really attentive and kind. The dive shop made it so easy to rent the gear I needed. The happy hour menu was fun and the sushi rolls were the best value on the menu. Minor criticisms: Stingy on Nespresso pods and no way to just heat water for tea. Nice kitchenette but I discovered it's not meant for eating food, just managing beverages. Since there's no breakfast on weekdays, I decided to grab groceries but needed to 'borrow' silverware from the restaurant. This resort isn't close to other attractions so ideally you have a rental car: was about $25 to get to 7 mile beach via taxi each way.

This resort features renovated, modern rooms, a great restaurant called Nova, and welcoming staff. However, it feels more like a large beach house than a traditional resort. On windy days, the pier is inaccessible, so we visited Governor’s Beach, which we found to be much better. The location isn’t ideal, as it’s situated in a residential area where local people live. To get around, you can take a public bus for $2, with the bus stop located 0.2 miles from the resort, or opt for a taxi, which can be quite expensive. This resort is well-suited for scuba diving enthusiasts, as they offer diving on the property. However, if you’re looking for a sandy beach experience, consider booking a hotel on Seven Mile Beach instead.

Only issue was the location is far from tourist areas such as 7mile and Georgetown, because of this taxi can cost 100 US dollars a day. I would rent a car during stay. The place is beautiful and the workers are nice.
