I really enjoyed our stay. We were visiting castles after a long overseas flight. The hotel was conveniently located. The staff was delightful. Dining was excellent as was the pub.

Completely perfect

What a super hotel, the staff are so welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Special thanks to the lady who helped with our bicycles, explained everything and showed us to our room (sorry we didn’t get names). Our room was bijou but perfect with some nice chilled music on arrival, a fab coffee machine along with quality tea bags, delicious shortbread and even a complimentary tipple. Comfortable bed and excellent shower - we loved the room names too.

We needed somewhere in westerham and this fitted the bill, very nice, easy to find easy to park, breakfast was 10/10 , the food (evening) looked fantastic, what I saw coming out, we didn’t eat as we went to a private party function, my only gripe was for me personally the mattress was to soft

This is a really good hotel and the staff are truly wonderful. My only issue was the room temperature as it was a hot summer day. I accept the hotel is over 300 years old and I understand the issues with installing A/C, I just mention this for future visitors. If it’s not too warm, don’t drive past this hotel.

Beautiful room

Beautiful room with almost everything you could wish for. My only gripe was the only mirror in the room to do hair and makeup was in the hall/alcove between bathroom and bedroom. Needed a mirror over the dressing table. However I always travel with an extension lead so I survived. Really would recommend.

If you're staying in Idris or having breakfast

We stayed in Idris. While comfortable and clean, there is almost no storage in the room and it's not really suitable for anyone over 5ft10in due to a low beam. While the breakfast service was frendly we felt it could have been more proactive towards the wants of the guests. For instance a couple clearly wanted a window table that had not been cleared. However, while this was observed by the staff, they were clearly expected to use the tables that were laid. This was not the only incident where it appeared that staff acted in ways that were more to do with minimizing the work-load than giving the customers the nicest experience.
