Its the little things that make a stay

We stayed at the same hotel on two different nights as it was half way to our destination. On the first night there was no bed made up for our daughter, wall light not working and no towels in the room. So much so the front desk agent even laughed at how badly the housekeeping had got our room. We made the agent at the time aware of our issues. We returned three days later to stay in the same room with again no towels and wall lights not working, the single bed for our daughter was made up on this occasion. When customers make you aware of the issues you would expect them to be resolved especially checking how many guests are staying in the room and making simple things like towels available and customers not having to chase for them. Its these little things, especially with children, that can make or break a stay

Tired and dated

The rooms and the hotel generally was quite dated and tired. The lock on our door was broken. The reception staff were lovely and gave us great information about our onward journey that saved us lots of time.

Only stayed due to a late flight and not wanting to drive home tired. Didn’t know I had to pay for parking on arrival, wasn’t given breakfast vouchers (until the morning when a very helpful member of staff came on duty) and the mattress on the single bed was rock hard. Breakfast was really good. The signage is really poor for travelling southbound but again the member of staff helped with this.

Lauren Phillips was the attendant or receptionist for the day at the desk and she was exceptionally wonderful with all her help. Went into the room looked for my childs toy where i explained it would be when i called to tell her we would return to collect the forgotten toy! She was not irritated or anything. So kind and helpful!

I was told that as I didn't book direct I would have to pay for the car park. Also the carpet was dirty with a brown stain in room 2. We didn't get a good nights sleep due to the bed creaking with every movement. We didn't seem it worth complaining as it was only one night. We would have mentioned all this to reception staff but there was no one there at check out. We won't be returning.

As a wheelchair user, I am dependent on prhers for help andd the staff were brilliant. Unfortunately, my sleep was very much disturbed because my room (number 1) is at the bottom of the stairs and the door from reception banging, together with footsteps going up the stairs disturbed my sleep a lot. It was also very easy to hear every word uttered in that area. Sound proofing for that room is needed. Otherwise it's a good accessible room
