Disappointing stay. At no point did we feel welcomed, appreciated or special; for $300 per night, guests should expect some level of enhanced service, but not here.
Starting with check-in, we were told three times that we were "an hour early" (check-in is 4pm, we thought it was 3pm, so, ok, our bad...but their curt response, multiple times, was excessive). Having some time to kill, we decided to get a drink at the bar...only to find the bar was closed; how is the bar at a historic, resort property closed in the middle of the afternoon?
Later, when we were able to get into our room, we found a used band-aid on the bathroom floor.
We went into town for dinner...upon our return we were looking forward to a night-cap on their patio; we asked a server if that area was in her section, she asked us if "we had a reservation?" No, we just wanted a drink. She then simply told us to "check at the host stand." So, we went to the host stand...after a few minutes someone came to us and said, "Do you have a reservation?" Uh, no, we just wanted to get drinks for the patio. We were directed to get drinks at the bar (now open) and take them outside. There was only one bartender to serve the whole restaurant and lounge, so it took quite a while to get our drinks.
No "Hello, welcome!" or "How are you?" "First time here?" Nothing. No welcome of any kind. Uncaring service where we felt we were inconveniencing the staff...a thoroughly disappointing experience...and waste of money.
