Nice for the price
Pleasantly surprised- staff were lovely & the rooms were very clean albeit a little old!
My two criticisms were that the toilet was very noisy when refilling & there was no choice of breakfast items ..just a full cooked breakfast …my wife would have preferred poached egg on toast ! Other than that ..was lovely & the staff were brilliant!
Receptionist was chewing a cigarette when I arrived, room hasn't been updated since the 80s. Side of the bath was coming off. Water/shower/radiator/room was cold. No breakfast. When leaving service bell didn't work, no phone number for on duty, couldn't pay despite waiting for 10mins. Terrible.
It is in great location for my visit but the one disappointing thing was the poor quality of the shower and bath.
The water was only like warm and the water pressure was very poor
Booked at vey last minute for two nights , cost was competitive so no complaints there , room was big and well equipped only downside was no hot breakfast, bar or dining facilities.
The 2xrooms given to us were very dirty and infested with spiders and spider webs. The drawer had dead insects in it, the pillow in one of the room has a dirty pillowcase on it.
very uncomfortable bed, lost lots of sleep whilst there for three days poor mattress sagging and needs urgent replacement - unable to turn off TV, use remote complained about this and had nothing but its working ..... when it wasn't felt as if the person dealing with this had no time and found him rude.
lime scale needs removing from the taps & shower head - could hardly turn the taps on and scum visable around the plughole on bath and sink - this place needs attention - no breakfast provided however fruit was made avalible - poor poor poor - never returning!

Won't be going back.
Room smelled of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room. There was NO service which was blamed on Covid-19 but in reality this seems to be a cost-cutting exercise as the rest of Essex was open. Failure to ensure even loo paper in the room was not impressive.
